okay im bored so i'm going to put brick!au pets under the cut

Cats: Descartes - Female, calico, belongs to Combeferre. Features most prominently in fic that I've already written because yeah, Ferre. The story behind her name is that brick!au Ferre is a Descartes fan to the point of obsession and he was so attached to the name that when he found out his new kitten was actually female he couldn't let it go. 

She's always either curled on Ferre's lap when he's at the coffee table studying, or sat on his papers on the table itself. Loves to sleep a lot, and doesn't like it when Combeferre leaves her alone. Very very clingy. When Eponine is over, she loves to squeeze in the gap between her body and the couch so she finds a cat sandwich when she gets up in the morning.  

Ianthe - Female, maine coon, belongs to Jehan. 

She likes to sit on the roof outside Jehan's room, swatting lazily at birds. Kinda wary of Courf. If Descartes is the downstairs cat, she's the upstairs cat. Quite aloof, but likes to have people around her regardless. Musichetta feeds her treats when she comes to the master bedroom, and she stays for the afternoon – hanging on the headboard until she gets hungry, and goes to look for Jehan again. 

Dogs:

Pup – Male, golden retriever mix, belongs to Gavroche. The boy found him one day when he was cycling through their suburb and the puppy followed him home. He grows up and becomes this massively docile thing that flops on the ground and lets the cats curl up in his fur.

Titian – Female, massive mongrel they're pretty sure is part wolf, belongs to Grantaire. He found her one day when he was wandering the woods behind the house. The dog sleeps with him in his shed, and is wary of all the other Amis. She particularly hates Enjolras for some reason. She never barks, but can be found staring at people in a way that can't possibly be normal. 

Nix – Male, greyhound, belongs to Feuilly. Bahorel looks after him when his owner goes on his many trips out of town. He always looks like he's about to fall over and he can't even run straight. He's just really jumpy and twitchy - he can't even sleep alone during a thunderstorm and has to curl up with somebody. 

Others: Unnamed terrapin - Bossuet is really into Feng Shui, so he keeps a terrapin in the corner of the dining hall. It's in a decently sized ceramic bowl with a little rock in the middle that it likes to perch on especially at dinner time. It's unusually brave for a terrapin, and lets people stroke its head when they pass by. He feeds it and cleans it meticulously every week. It doesn't have a name because Bossuet can't tell if it's a guy or a girl. Descartes is terrified of it.  

Fish - Bahorel has two fighter fish and keeps them in separate tanks on one of the kitchen tables and talks to them as he cooks. 

Combeferre also has a tank of tropical fish.

Birds - There are these two bright green birds that keep coming back to Jehan's window. He has a bird feeder there now and they built a nest there once. They're too smart to get caught by Ianthe, who's too lazy most of the time anyway.
