Alex’s image of a landscape in South Korea is more reminiscent of a painting than a digital photograph. A buzzing stream of color sweeps through the image. The long exposure time in which the image was shot captures the movement of clouds over a bright blue sky, as well as that of golden foliage being swept left and right by the wind.
The traces left by the movement of the objects in the frame give the image an overall psychedelic or dreamlike feeling; visual reverberation and echo. She says the painter Claude Monet with his bright colored landscapes done with loose brush strokes inspire her, and in this image the parallels between her and his work are clear.
