The afternoon heat was stifling but the backyard at the Cody house was mercifully quiet for once.

You rested your folded arms on the concrete lip of the pool, letting your chin settle gently on your forearms. The cool water held you weightless, soothing the sun warmed skin of your lower back.

Your body arched naturally as you relaxed, bringing out the subtle indentations at the base of your spine, as well as the unique pair of small dips right at the curve of your shoulders, a detail you’d always felt a little selfconscious about, worrying they looked out of place.

A quiet splash rippled through the water behind you.

You didn't even need to turn around to know who it was.

Andrew's hands rested firmly against your waist. His grip was solid, holding you effortlessly. You felt the chest to back warmth of him as he leaned in close, his chin coming to rest right over your shoulder.

"Water’s good, mh?" he murmured against your ear.

"It’s perfect," you replied softly, leaning back into his frame.

Andrew's hands stayed on your waist, his thumbs slowly smoothing over your hipbones beneath the water. Without a word, he leaned down, pressing a kiss directly into the small indentation on your left shoulder.

The heat of his lips against your skin sent a quiet shiver straight down your spine.

"Andrew..." you whispered, your heart doing a flutter.

He moved slowly, his lips trailing across the nape of your neck before settling into the shallow dip of your right shoulder dimple. He kissed it once, then twice, letting his lips rest there for a long moment while his hands held you steady against him.

When he finally pulled back, he looked down at you with fierce.

"Your dimples are so cute," Andrew whispered, his thumb smoothing over your waist. "All of them. Right here..." He pressed one more tender kiss into the dip of your shoulder. "...and down here, too."

​A small smile broke across your face, erasing every trace of insecurity you had felt minutes ago. You turned your head slightly, pressing a kiss to his cheek while his hands held you safe against him in the cool water.

​"You really think so?" you asked softly.

​Andrew nudged his nose gently against yours, his hands still firmly at your waist. "I know so. Don't hide 'em."

Pope is definitely an Acts of Service kind of man.

The door hinge that keeps squeaking so annoyingly? Dealt with before you can ask him to fix it.

Maybe you ran out of something, your favorite moisturizer or the shampoo you like, you only mention it once in passing but the next day you already have three bottles stocked (so you have more before it runs out again)

He makes you breakfast and brings it to your shared bed so you don’t have to move a single finger so early in the morning (and he does the dishes afterwards too, even if you tell him that you’d take care of that)

But Pope also loves Physical Touch

Hand holding, fingers brushing yours if you two are close enough, lying down with his head on your lap while you two watch TV. All of it.

Did you two go out for a night and someone catcalled you on the street? His arm is immediately around your waist, his hand settling on your hip as he gives the nastiest glare to whoever did that. Pope doesn’t chase after them simply because you told him not to, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t slash some car tires later when he found out where that asshole lived.

Pope also loves to cuddle, specially in bed, it doesn’t matter if clothes are involved or not. He will hold you close, his body on top of yours and his head on your chest because the sound of your heart calms him down, it makes the loud noises in his head go away.

Pope Cody is a good boyfriend that just loves his favorite person :)

andrew cody who, since beginning meeting you, has not cleaned any of his own wounds. he met you at one of his boxing matches. you served drinks and collected money from the people who attending his shows. but when he saw you, he was so distracted that he let this opponent get a good hit in. this snapped him back to his fit of rage and he finished the fight with a harsh blow to the others face, but andrew was left with a cut cheek and a split lip. when the fight was over, you ushered him towards the corner, where he jerked his face away from your soft hands. you smelled like something floral, something he would find in his garden, regardless of the fact that the two of you were surrounded by sticky beer and stickier fingers. you quickly pulled back your hands at his blatant dismissal but told him that you were a nurse, or at least studying to be one. reluctantly, he let you guide swift fingertips across his face, lightly prodding at the wound before wiping it with gauze, and taking out a bandage. it was pink, with hearts on it and you apologized for the hit you were sure his ego would take. he waved you off and promised pink was his favorite color. and sometimes if andrew was feeling particularly needy, he’d let himself be hit, just so he could smell your sweet perfume.
