Here are the #inks or the @dirtyheads poster! Pretty stoked to be commissioned again to do another poster for them. It was fun to incorporate some of what I’m doing with tattooing into this piece with the flowers. I’ve been fortunate to be tattooing a lot of flowers lately. Hit me up if you wanna snag the original! . I #inked this piece with a @davinci_artistbrushes_official #sable #brush a #pittpen and a black #prismacolor I never used the brush before. It felt different from the #winsornewton I normally use. I found out about them after reading an interview with #RyanSook. Using a colored pencil is an old illustration trick I learned from obsessing over #andrewloomis and his books! I used to use the pencils early in my career when I wasn’t confident with my brush skills. Happy to see I suck less. I used the pencil to soften some lines and create texture in the mirror. . Some of my art heroes are #AdamHughes #TerryDodson #RachelDodson and #DaveStevens and you can see that influence in my inking. I like to be influenced by these artists but I make sure I’m not copying them. It’s important to have your own style. I look at their work to help me problem solve how to draw hair, hands, flowers etc. . I’ll be exhibiting at @fivepointsfest booth 237 this weekend!!! Really stoked to be back in the New York Groove!
