My pleasure babe!

From March 20th-28th I am going on a cross country road trip with my boyfriend. SF to our BeachHouse in Oceanside , Straight through Arizona (hopefully stopping at the Grand Canyon), through New Mexico, and stopping in Austin for 2 days. Hanging with Shawn’s cousin there - she is a singer/song-writer and DJ’s on Thursday nights in downtown so we are going to enjoy the night life/music scene and sites!

Then it is onto New Orleans, LA. I am most excited to see the old cemeteries and catacombs, old churches and gothic architecture. Of course do the touristy thing and walk down Bourbon Street - I have a tattoo appointment set up for the 25th at Downtown Tattoo ; GOSH I cannot wait.

From New Orleans it is upwards to Nashville. There we want explore music’s biggest city, go to Jack White’s record store/studio and eat delicious food. Walk the noisy Nashville streets at night and stop into poppin bars with well drinks and even better singers on stage. 

Shawn will fly home the morning of the 28th from Nashville then I will continue driving through to Roanoke, VA… drop the car off and fly back to SF. - Now, that was the ultra short version of it all. I think the thing I am most excited about, tattoo aside, is just simply driving through every stunning inch of this country. Stopping in musics biggest cities, experiencing old southern soul, eating down-home food and just photographing every frame of this nation! It is going to be amazing.

What an extraordinary opportunity this is, I cannot believe it is almost here!

Then a week later I fly back to Virginia for an entire month. Life is wild this year. That is for sure!

1. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TIME OF DAY?

I like the way the day looks around 4 in the afternoon. It is the most beautiful time. It reminds me that it is almost time to "clock-out" and that I will soon be returning to my home. cooking in my kitchen and relaxing with Shawn.

2. FAVORITE SONG?

3. WHAT IS THE BEST GIFT YOU HAVE EVER RECEIVED?

Life! Thanks Mom and Dad!

4. FAVORITE MEMORY?

This is just too hard to ask so, my favorite recent memory is sharing a New Years kiss with Shawn and Facetiming with Celina while in the hospital before she gave birth to her daughter on New Years day.

5. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PLACE IN THE US?

Well, being that I haven't done a TON of traveling of the US in my adult life, I will just pull from my memory bank and say Portland. My more recent love affair actually is with Boise. DO NOT underestimate that great city. It is a quiet gem, but nonetheless a gem. Quaint coffee shops, tasty restaurants, young scene and music galore! GREAT visit!

6. FAVORITE BOOK? 

Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain. 

7. WHAT IS THE ONE THING YOU WANT TO DO THAT YOU HAVE NEVER DONE BEFORE?

Backpack through Europe. If my back could stand it, that is.

8. FAVORITE QUOTE/BIBLE VERSE?

There are many that have risen to my liking over that past 24 years but I have somehow always taken to Isaiah 1:18.

"Come now, let us settle the matter,”     says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet,     they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson,     they shall be like wool"

Just reminds me that however deep my transgressions, no matter how wounded I have left others, no matter if it still stings; that if I seek forgiveness (by them and by my maker) and if they have the willingness to forgive, my most red, rash and hurtful times can be washed white and clean again. A reminder that is okay to mess up, and have arguments, and be a human of free-6will, as long as you are not abusing it or being intentional with your sins against others. Its a reminder that even at my worst I can be set free of my short comings by my higher power that loves me unconditionally. 

9. SOMETHING YOU ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT?

Working. I am a workaholic. I never say no. Always pick up extra hours and wear done to the bone. I do this so my future will be light of responsibility. I do this so my future self can relish in down time and leisure life. Its all a grander plan!

10. IF THERE WAS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU COULD GIVE YOUNG GIRLS, WHAT  WOULD IT BE?

"Never turn your back on your family. One day they could shock the shit out of you." 11+ years later and I am still in awe of my father, but for so many different, positive reasons than before. 

11. WHEN ARE YOU THE HAPPIEST? 

When I am traveling, or being spontaneous with a map and camera in my hands. When I am outside of my routine and exploring new terrains.  Adventure is when I am most happy!
