Chrono-Series aka Time Traveler/Machine(?)/Android au

AKA me, combining time traveling with androids. because it just makes sense..... and I had a dream of Logan as the tardis....it was weird. but that’s the true inspiration...Tardis Logan. (but the actual personality of the tardis reminds me more of Dee or Roman in some ways actually so....idk what that’s about)

Anyways, I spent wayy too long on this, and I wish I had been doing my existing aus if I was drawing, but this thing didn’t stop bugging me so I’m like ‘fudge it guess it’s time to draw’ (also, character design is fun and I just....neeed to do character-design sometimes.)

Does it count if we're not, like, physically time-travelling? Cuz if I'm being honest I'm sitting at home eating ramen and chit-chatting with you in pretty much the same way I'd text a friend. Although I guess it could be done, you did mention equipment...

Roman: ... Timetravel requires extensive and oftentimes potentially hazardous equipment when mishandled. I am the smallest time-traveling unit that exists in my era.... And there are robots who’s entire job is purely to time travel and take a sample without moving anywhere. You’d know if you’re traveling. Which you are because you’re talking to me from an era without a linked communication device-

Timeline designation? Pre-Timelock???? Uhhhhh... we're not familiar with most of these terms. Ummm, we're from the year 2021, and... uh... well let's just say we understand now why the phrase "may you live in interesting times" is a curse.

Roman: AH, ‘21-ets! Maybe. (The Wellerman sea shanty starts playing in the background) Fair enough point dear 2021-er. Either way. Good luck and stay safe you crazy persistent humans! Oh wait is crazy a negative term there right now?- ... Ah, wait, let me switch year-modes. (there is an audible click) I mean crazy (affectionate). There.

Roman: If you are 2021 humans...how you got past the Timelock is... beyond me. Timelock is very particularly based out of the Timeline Divergence. Essentially, time travel got invented, humans sent a ton of stuff back and forth in time, created a few divergent realities, and it started getting hard to navigate so the Timelock restricted timeline movement. Organic lifeforms also... take a hit with timetravel. Therefore, if you’re time-traveling you’re either a government-owned android or robot, like muah, or you are from a post- Timeline Divergent, Pre-Timelock era...because...you... kinda already did it. Technically. Time travel.

Roman: I suppose you wouldn’t be breaking Timelock if you just have the right equipment but- No that doesn’t make sense either, you’re still communicating to the past with equipment you shouldn’t have.

Roman: ... Do you have a Timeline Designation? You’re clearly from Post Time Divergence... hmm, possibly Pre-Timelock? If you do not know your Timeline Designation Code a year shall suffice.

Roman: Although. You appear to be a collective of voices, rather than one single individual... ... Nevermind, unless you all are from one year, don’t bother informing me of your designation. That’d be far too much information at once.

Roman: Hmm. You guys are chatty. Maybe that’s why Remus is like that...

Roman: I have no imperative to trust you yet. I shall assume you’re humans who somehow stumbled across access to my correspondence code and you frankly, do not appear to have clearance for it.

Roman: I am biased towards Patton due to the nature of sociological research. I have formed an emotional and social attachment and can no longer function as a neutral observer. In simpler terms, I love him too much and all my reports turned into me gushing.... There’s plenty I can learn from individuals and my social integration beyond Patton however.

Roman: ...

Roman: We’re ignoring the files. Please and thank you. ...Thomas will get it fixed up when I go meet him for repairs. I’m operating safely and soundly so there’s no reason to get your brains in a twist.

ROMAN, YA GLORIOUS BASTARD, HOW'VE YOU BEEN?!

*You can see from what seems to be Roman's perspective. It is somewhere in early 1920s New York. Roman is walking with Patton, and the image shifts from focused on Patton to a rapid scan of the immediate surroundings.*

Roman: The hell?

Patton: Something wrong?

Roman: no... just, could've sworn I'd heard... well I assumed it was my brother, but that's not really possible. Heh. ... Let's get a wiggle on to that gig of yours, kay?

Patton: 'Kay kiddo! Thanks for walkin with me, it's felt like forever since we've gotten to take a stroll.

*Roman nods and scans the streets again, slowly this time. And you can hear him a little crisper than when he had been talking aloud to Patton.*

Roman: Flattery won't get you anywhere. Who are you? (And might I add that is a Beautiful way to get Roman's attention.)
