#android 55

Might as well start small first, I guess...

Kokuyou-sensei, my headcanon for the pre-conversion human form of Android 55 from Dragon Ball Fusions. Despite how much bile builds up in my chest when I think about it, my heart still pines for some of the characters that I'd spent a lot of time writing. I've got a great deal of this stuff, but Kokuyou's plight of losing everything he'd worked so hard to achieve hits particularly hard right now.

His westernized name would probably be something like Master Sidian (黒曜石/kokuyouseki is obsidian, as I'm keeping the androids to a gemstone name theme due to Lapis and Lazuli. 33 is Perry. 44 is Tark Wiseau. 76 is Laud; odd since it's meant to be a double-pun, as Laud is a musical instrument a-la Namekian, but in Japanese would be Raudo, which would be a step away from Rarudo, or Rald).

I'm extremely frustrated because this looks quick/rushed but took a couple of hours. Phone workflow is just complete trash, and it's keeping me fundamentally demotivated.

(Also find it generally funny when characters who could most likely shrug off actual flames may in fact still complain about terrible weather… and machinery gets particularly whiny when ambient temps go up...)

Man, after running around with other Support moves, Cover and its upgrades are so unbelievably inferior to Barrier and Energy-Wave Absorption with the sole exception that it costs less energy to throw yourself in front of someone else’s attack in a pinch.

Some more Fusions character things, these aren’t tied to in-game teams, but rather to an AU narrative I have brewing off to the side that I may never be brave enough to bring to any sort of fruition.

Just a few of the (potentially) more prominent players in a little tale about an Empire seeking galactic domination, a once-proud Protectorate that opposed them whose ideals became corrupt over time, and the ragtag group of ex-Protectorate Deserters who just want to do good but are now caught in the middle of it all.

For various reasons (primarily the solid black eyes), I headcanon 55 as blind; specifically, that he was originally blind as a human (a martial arts master who fell protecting his students from the villains who’d later convert him), and that he willingly disables the eyesight that the new cyborg body granted him. Why, I haven’t quite decided.  Perhaps to hold onto something of his old life, to maintain a semblance of humility; attuned to working around it, insisting on continuing to live by it.

Also, my way of excusing how a proclaimed ‘nice person’ would be such a creeper on the ship in-game (this is another thing I’m hoping I can verify by hunting down Japanese text to compare, though hoping the book has ship quotes might be asking a little too much). ;P  A somewhat damaged sense of ironic humor directed at his grudge against certain ‘villain’ characters viewed as responsible for his condition, coupled with the ability to detect energy but not being able to differentiate it as well with machine sensors like he could as a human.
