Some art of @andromi of Naomi and Andromeda! Robo pals bein’ cool and showin’ off cool robo parts! Wowie! :D I love these cuties a lot- theres not much about them yet, but their designs are lovely (All of Ponetts stuff is wonderful, please go check it out!) and I can’t wait to learn more about them and the game.

Is there a backstory for the names of the characters in SLARPG and Andromi? Or did you just add them because you thought they fit?

a lot of my characters do have stories behind the names, actually. just looking at the protags in andromi and slarpg:

Andromeda Beaumont: obviously named after the andromeda galaxy, because she’s a space robot. the last name beaumont is taken from a town in california. i like browsing lists of town names in certain states or countries to get last names, which is a tip i got from a post about creating and writing characters from tim schafer. i looked in california for andromeda’s last name because she shares her last name with her creator, who’s an inventor, and cali obviously has a big tech industry, so it seemed fitting

Naomi Rockaway: naomi’s just a name i liked, and her last name is taken from rockaway, new jersey, because naomi actually is from new jersey. the name also stuck out to me because it reminded me of the first line in the bomb the music industry song hurricane waves

Melody Amaranth: melody is just a cute name i’d been wanting to use--it does actually have some significance to her personally, in her story, but why she chose that name is a spoiler. her last name is a shade of pink, because she is pink

Allison Goleta: allison gets her name from the jeff rosenstock song hey allison. i actually wanted to use the name for a character from naomi’s past in andromi, like an old friend or a sister or something, but i gave it to melody’s gf instead. her last name is taken from a town in southern california, possibly because allison vaguely acts like my boyfriend, who is from socal

Claire Higsby: claire's just a name that fits. her last name was inspired by the mega man battle network character, who is a fucking nerd, just like her

Jodie Caldwell: nothing special here, jodie's just a fitting name and caldwell is a fairly common last name that i thought sounded right. i wanted jodie’s name to be common because she’s pretty down to earth

it’d been too long since i drew andromeda (or anything andromi-related really) so i decided to draw everyone’s favorite gay adventurous robo-reindeer in a cool jacket. and i added a background too because i have literally not drawn any scenery from this world since 2014
