Why would anyone even want to beat no man's sky?

no man’s sky technically has an ending, but i mean. i dunno. people are weird

it’s like the “ending” in minecraft. like yeah, technically beating the ender dragon is the overarching goal, i GUESS, but the fun of the game comes from doing whatever you want at a relaxed pace. i’ve played a lot of minecraft, and i never got to the end, but i’m still satisfied with the experiences i had. the goal is just there to drive players forward at the start, when you don’t know what to do in the world. it’s not the entirety of the game. it’s just supposed to guide you until you find the stuff you think is fun

anyone who’s just rushing to get to the center of the universe in no man’s sky is just missing the point, ESPECIALLY if you’re gonna rush to the ending and then go “wow that wasn’t very fun,” like yeah no shit! it’s a game about taking it slow, smelling the roses, not grinding to get to the end
