Andruss Library celebrates National Library Week
Bloomsburg University’s Harvey A. Andruss Library invites students to come down from April 8-14 and enjoy what the library has to offer in honor of National Library Week.
All week the library is offering fines forgiveness for students who have book fines owed to the library. In order to be forgiven, a patron must ask the Library Circulation Desk in person. Any overdue fines will be forgiven. Lost or damaged book fees are not included.
The library will also be hosting a scavenger hunt. From Monday to Friday students can enter the hunt to find a Bloomsburg Husky hidden somewhere in the library. Once it has been found, the student must take a picture and show it to the Circulation Desk. This will enter the student to win a prize from the BU Store.
Other activities include the reveal of the library’s new book clock on Monday, April 9, and game night in the library on Tuesday, April 10. The library will provide games such as Scattergories, Apples to Apples, Clue, and more, but students are invited to bring their own.
The National Book Committee first created National Library Week in 1958 to motivate American citizens to read more and support local libraries. The week is now sponsored by the American Library Association who work to promote library use and support across the country.
