The #endometriosis #struggleisreal (pardon my manicure, or lack there of) my ring finger looks like it was rope burned by a tiny little rope. 😖 I have to take my rings off, and the mark is from the strain/force from putting it on and taking it off. The swelling from my rampant hormones is really bad right now. The really annoying part is I eat well, I take care of my body. I wonder @newyorkendometriosis is it because I only have the left side of my reproductive organs that I get the bad swelling on the left? (I had a unilateral salpingo-oophorectomy- cystectomy less than a year ago and 6 months Lupron depot treatment.) So many questions I’ve yet to get answers to. The mark on my finger is just one of the signs of this invisible illness. This may be viewed as vain, but I’d like to wear my wedding ring... I really hope a cure can be found. I know it won’t be for me and my generation, but I’d love some answers and more of an understanding. Then I’ll be able to hopefully endure the constant pain and constantly lying when someone ask “how are you today?” I’d like to say “I’ve stage IV endometriosis, and it’s not a good day.” And that they know and are educated about the condition. Rather than saying “I’m good/fine”. I’m mostly positive about the battle with endo since I was diagnosed, but today and the past 14 days have been brutal, with the excruciating pain and bloat. So today I’m keeping it real, I’m frustrated, frazzled and I have to earn a living and fulfill my responsibilities. And it’s really hard sometimes. So I apologize for the pity party of 1. But it’s life, my real life, right now and it’s not “Pretty”. Yes, I’ll dust myself off and start fresh tomorrow with a positive attitude. It was a quiet year for Make Life Pretty blogging and posting wise. A lot happened in my life and I went through, and am still going through some tough stuff. But there are people out there who are going through even tougher stuff, and my prayers go out to them. So in the grand scheme of things, I’m blessed. Every bit of pain made/makes me stronger and every disappointment humbles me and makes me remember how truly blessed I am. However in those moments mentioned above, I found joy beyond compare as well.
