For me, it was a cheap ring that was bought for 50 cents from a toy vending machine as a joke by the man who is now my husband and the father of my children. I once thought I lost it, and for some reason I can’t fully describe, I was a bit distraught. For Hermione, it’s a blanket. The very one that Harry put over Hermione on the night that Ron left during the Horcrux hunt. In this fic, Hermione tells how that blanket has helped her through the lows and highs of her and Ron’s life together.

Ron, you see, doesn’t know why the blanket is so special to me. After all these years, I’ve never told him. He’s asked many times, but it’s always felt like a pleasurable little secret, too good to let go. Ron, however impatient he may be, is still doting.
