Ron and Hermione Directory

~ INACTIVE ~ The Ron and Hermione Directory is Tumblr's very own fanlisting of all Romione shippers. The only requirement for your to be added to the General Directory is that you ship Ron and Hermione. In the Yellow Pages you will be able to find fanwork creators and R/Hr exclusive blogs sorted by category. For you to appear in the General Directory, you need to follow this blog so you will be followed back. If you create R/Hr fanworks (art, fics, edits, etc.) as well or have a 100% R/Hr blog, message us to be added to the Yellow Pages. Please read our FAQ and answered asks if you have any questions, or contact us!

romionedirectory is now romionedirectory-archive, as it hasn’t been updated or active for a few years now and it likely won’t be again. It will continue to exist as an archive for consulting purposes until Tumblr deletes it, but that’s all.

I, the sole manager of this blog, am no longer active in the Romione community, so I have nothing to contribute and can’t help you finding current fics or creators.

Important

Hi everyone! I’m really sorry to say this, but as of now, I’m announcing that I won’t be continuing with our Monthly Recs. As you know, I’m not the one doing them, but inviting other people to submit theirs. I thought there would be more interest in being a reccer, as only four recs are required as a minimum, but sadly, that’s not the case. I really can’t deal at the moment with the stress over people not applying, or applying only to quit halfway.

In addition to this, I’ve realized that the blog’s original intention of following just about everyone who followed us is not very useful to other shippers, but I haven’t been able to otherwise repurpose this, or even to keep the Yellow Pages updated. So, for a while at least, this blog will be in a hiatus.

Feel free to still follow us and browse our blog, though! And if you have any questions/messages, you can direct them to my main.

Author’s summary: Trapped in the confines of number twelve Grimmauld Place, Ron and Hermione find themselves plunged head-first into a sea of lust. Will they be able to fight the current, or get pulled down by the undertow?

Why everyone should read this: I was blown away the first time I read this fic. The author uses vivid and unusual imagery to depict the erotically charged situation Ron and Hermione find themselves in. The story is told from Hermione’s perspective, and begins with the piano scene from the Deathly Hallows film before exploring the possibilities that follow. It’s an intense journey through the “what ifs?” from their time at Grimmauld Place, and it sucks you in completely.

Excerpt: 

My heart is a fist pounding on my ribcage as our lips are pulled together and meet in a dulcet, lingering kiss. His mouth folds over my bottom lip, and this slight pressure seems to tug at my soul. My body is a sponge, and I soak up the kiss, letting it fill every pore in my body with fire. The sensation is euphoric.

My knees unhinge.

But then Ron begins to pull away every so slightly, our lips part, and a small space is created between them that crackles with static. He breathes out slowly as he pulls his hand away from my face.

Why everyone should read this: Ron returns and makes amends is always an excellent Ron/Hermione trope, and this is no exception. Ron steps up to try and rebuild his relationships with his best friend and the girl he loves. The ending is super adorbs. Yes, me, a 36-year-old man, just used the word adorbs.

Why you chose this piece: Even though it’s AU, it would have been a great way for Ron/Hermione’s first kiss to have happened. I think it conveys a lot of the emotion they were feeling upon his return, and how much they missed each other (especially in the second panel). Also, Harry’s expression is hilarious.

This is a cute story! I’ve read a number of GingerWitchWriter’s stories recently, and I’ve enjoyed them (even if she writes in first person, which I know some people don’t like). Author’s summary: Shell Cottage after Malfoy Manor in Deathly Hallows. It’s been done many times before, and for a reason. JKR simply does not deal with important issues she set up in the scenes at Malfoy Manor. This is my take, which I hope gives a different perspective and adds fresh elements.

Why everyone should read this: This is a very interesting take on Ron and Hermione’s time at Shell Cottage, and explores several ideas and character dynamics not covered in most Shell Cottage fics. I thought it was creative and imaginative, though I would classify it as AU, and sometimes OOC. Still, a good read.

Why everyone should read this: By now it should be fairly apparent that my favorite genre is fluffy post-DH RHr! This is a sweet and romantic one-shot exploring one way Ron and Hermione’s big day (or evening, as the case may be) could have played out. It touches lightly on Ron’s lingering insecurities, but is mostly an adorable excuse to get swept up in their excitement to spend their lives together.  

Excerpt:

She sat both of them up and began tenderly rubbing the collar of his shirt. “I don’t want to wait one more moment, Ron. I don’t want to go to sleep tonight until I’m your wife.”

The words struck Ron like a bolt of lightning in the chest. This was really happening. He’d feared all day he’d have to convince her to agree to the engagement, but now she had not only accepted but wanted to get married immediately, and he wasn’t sure it was possible to breathe.

He forced himself to exhale, and then it was perfectly clear to him. He dug around in the cushions for the ring box and slipped the ring on her finger. He nodded and smiled, “Let’s do it.”

Why everyone should read this: Ron helps to create a unique and beautiful gift for Hermione - one shaped by his deepest feelings her. I love this story because it’s a beautiful ode to the strength of the love Ron and Hermione share. The writing is fantastic, it’s really in-character and the magic the author invents in connection to the gift is clever and moving and fits seamlessly into the HP world. By the same author, I also highly recommend The Bet for Married RHr and The Body Electric as a lovely First Time fic (both rated M).    

Excerpt:

He grinned, lifting the delicate bracelet from the box and clasping it about her wrist, going still as he felt something enormous rush through him the moment it made contact with her skin. His grin fell away as he met her eyes, wide now and pinned to his face.

“Ron, did you-did you feel that?”

He swallowed, nodding slowly. The rush had left a pleasant warm feeling throughout his body, but he was slightly uneasy. There was something…oddly familiar about the sensation, almost like he had felt it before, in another time and another place. Something flashed in his mind, a fleeting impression of laughter and Hermione’s ankles running through tall grass…and then nothing. He couldn’t…it was just out of his grasp…

Why everyone should read this: It’s really hard for me to choose one favorite out of this author’s drabbles, but this one set at Shell Cottage is so lovely and moving, it got the nod. But there are so many others that are laugh-out-loud funny (Warble) and adorably romantic (Ever) - the by-product of trying to choose was re-reading a bunch of them, which I encourage everyone to do!

Excerpt:

He gently catches her wrist and brushes the hair back again, ignoring her whisper of protest. He touches the faint remnants of the wound with his finger and she shudders and twists away from him.

“Do you know what I think when I see it?” he says.

She grimaces and he can hear the words she’s biting back. Revulsion. Disgust.

“Joy.”

Author’s summary: This is a look at the developing relationship between Hermione and Ron set during the Deathly Hallows.

Why everyone should read this: This is one of my absolute favorite “comprehensive” RHr post-DH fics! As the author’s summary suggests, it covers all of DH with a focus on Ron and Hermione’s experiences and then continues to about five years after the war, hitting many of the big milestones of their relationship. It’s pretty balanced between Ron and Hermione’s perspectives and both the characterizations and the storylines are eminently believable. Lots of fluff but also the bumps and misunderstandings that come with any serious, deeply committed relationship as two people grow together. At almost 250K words it’s certainly not short, but if, like me, you have an endless appetite for the little moments in their lives, you can happily lose yourself in this fic.

Excerpt:

Ron put his arms around her shoulders and Hermione snuggled against his chest. He could feel his heart pounding at her nearness and was sure that Hermione heard it as well. He let his hands play with her hair, not caring about the amount of dust and dirt that were nestled within its curls. There was so much that needed to be said, so much that needed to be done but he didn’t have the energy to do either. His body felt broken and he was certain that Hermione felt the same. He thought she might have dozed off and gave a start when he heard her voice.

“So,” she whispered, “what next?”

He knew there was a deeper meaning to that question. He thought about all of the healing, both physical and emotional, that the two of them had to face. He thought about his family, probably gathered around Fred at this very moment. He thought about the Burrow and felt a surge of happiness at the thought of being able to return home. Ron also thought about Hermione’s parents, knowing that she would want to fetch them as soon as possible. There were so many answers to give to her but he could only think of one.

“We will have a lifetime to figure that out, won’t we,” he responded, lowering his face to hers.
