I couldn’t have met a sweeter boy than I did when I met Anduin Wrynn. Yes, I heard the whispers of his kindness, but it really takes meeting him to see how little the stories of him tell. He’s exceptionally kind, and as I have known him in his adulthood, that kindness and compassion has only grown. But of course, so have our feelings for one another. He can bring a smile to my face even when I’m in the darkest of places, and he knows exactly what I need in my times of trouble. My heart flutters whenever we’re alone together, and I long just to take him in my arms and never let go.
❅ -- Our muses are trying to warm up after spending a day outside in the snow. - Anduinkingofstormwind
"Brrr!" Akirlia shivered as she and Anduin made their way back into Ironforge, after a day of exploring the world outside of the Dwarf capital, taking in the sights, experience the snowfall, and playing with the small animals that lived in the frigid conditions, Akirlia threatening to take a snow leopard cub back with them, though as its mother approached, they found it safer to leave it be.
"Cold doesn’t normally bother me," she mused, rubbing her hands together, attempting to warm them as the King walked beside her, reaching for her freezing hands, taking them in his own. "But this cold is more than I’ve experienced." Stepping into the warmth of Ironforge, the Draenei unwrapped her scarf a bit as they walked, finally feeling at ease as the temperature rose around them. As they walked to their room, dwarves bowed respectfully to the King and his Lady, and human and Draenei nodded their heads in greeting to each and every man, woman, and child as they passed, smiles plastered to their faces.
Finally in the peace of their room, Anduin began to shrug himself out of his winter clothes, his blue hues wandering to Akirlia, who rid herself of her own, watching as more and more of her beautiful, blue skin appeared to his eyes, a smile crossing his lips. Pulling his shirt over his head, he slyly strode over to his beloved, his hands slipping under her shirt, a surprised jump escaping her as his cold hands touched her warm skin. Peering over her shoulder, noticing the expression upon Anduin’s face, she grinned, a soft laugh escaping her as he eased her out of her shirt.
"My King, we’ve just only gotten back," she mused, the tone of her voice playful. "Shouldn’t we have a bit of time to warm ourselves up?" Though despite her words, she allowed her shirt to come off, feeling lips press themselves against her spine, causing her to shiver in delight, a smug smile crossing Anduin’s features, his hands wandering down her waist to rest upon her hips.
"I have an idea of how to warm us up, love," he purred, causing Akirlia to lick her lips in anticipation. "And it’ll be worthwhile for us both…"

Even as Queen, it didn’t stop Akirlia from being plagued with the nightmares which had always haunted her soul.
Anduin had been awake already when Kir had woken up, screaming, and the Draenei, in a panic, had fled the room, unable to bare her beloved’s concerned gaze upon her as she cried tearfully. That hadn’t stopped Anduin from following her, however, and soon he found her upon a balcony, her elegant form shaking, her tail twitching nervously back and forth as her shining gaze found the stars.
Her ear twitched as she heard him approach, and a small, sad smile crossed her lips before she sighed, shaking her head. “I’m sorry, my love,” she murmured, unable to meet his eyes. “I didn’t want you to see me like that…I…” Not a moment had passed and the King held his Queen in his arms, cradling her gentle, feeling the wetness of her tears upon his shoulder.
"Dry your tears, Kir. I vowed in front of the entire Kingdom that for better or for worse, I would be by your side. Through anything, Kir. And I’ll be with you now as you fight the night terrors." Her arms wrapped around him as she brought him into her embrace, nuzzling him tenderly.
"It means the world to me," she murmured softly. "Always remember that."
₩ our muses are caught in a thunder storm together - anduinkingofstormwind
Rain, a torrential downpour fell upon Anduin and Akirlia as they ran through Stormwind City, unable to contain the giggled as they attempted to keep themselves dry. It had been a lovely day, sitting in the courtyard, though without worry of anyone starting any rumors. Anara was gone and Anduin was fully and completely Akirlia’s, and word flew across the shining city at the King’s sudden happiness, and of the strange, Draenei woman who had one his heart.
Today was no exception.
They had been in the courtyard, watching the young children begin their training in their chosen paths. Akirlia stood from a distance, watching the King interact with the precious kids, warming her heart and bringing a smile to her lips to see Anduin in such a situation. He did so well with kids, and she could only imagine he would want several of his own. Her mind went off, imagining it, before she suddenly felt a tug on her leg, looking down to see a little girl, eyes wide in wonder, as she gazed upon Akirlia.
“‘Scuse me, miss,” she said, softly and timidly as her hands wrung together. “Are you the King’s girlfriend?” Akirlia’s cheeks had darkened in a blush as she knelt, allowing the girl’s hands to take her own, feeling small fingers trail over the back fo her blue hand, as though she was some sort of amazing creation.
"I think you should ask him that, yourself," she encouraged with a smile. "Go on." The little girl looked from Akirlia to Anduin and back, her own face reddening in a blush before she shook her head, reddish curls bouncing about her face.
"No, miss, I can’t do that…because…" Her eyes darted around, searching for any eavesdroppers before leaning in close to the Draenei’s ears. "I think he’s really cute and I just didn’t want you to hate me because everyone says the King loves you and you’re so nice." She refused to meet Akirlia’s eyes as the Draenei smiled warmly.
"Here’s a little secret," she whispered back, searching for the girl’s eyes. "I think he’s really cute too, and we can talk about how really cute he is together, if you’d like." The girl’s eyes widened and glowed as she nodded furiously before Akirlia sent her off to talk to Anduin, herself.
And then, it had started to rain.
Thunder roared and lightning crackled as the rain came down, and the pair made sure to get the children completely to safety before they returned to the castle themselves. Nearly upon the steps, fingers interlocked with each other, Anduin pulled Akirlia back, twirling her about before wrapping his arms around her waist, giving her the puppy-eyed look that she couldn’t resist.
"Why rush, Kir?" he asked with a smile. "We’re already both drenched, and if I do say so myself, I love seeing you in wet clothing." He chuckled lightly as she affectionately punched him, though a moment later, he had pulled her in for a kiss, rain still pouring down upon them as Kir wrapped her arms around his shoulders, her tail swishing happily back and forth as she returned the motion.
"If this is how every thunderstorm is going to be," she murmured as they broke apart, nuzzling his nose, "I look forward to millions more."

Akirlia laid in bed, nuzzling Anduin’s neck affectionately. It had been a long day for them both, what with dealing with the wearisome advisors and the wretched Anara, Akirlia and Anduin had sought each other’s company more than they had before. He had crept into her room that night, knowing well that she avoided all sorts of publicity since the incident which she had struck the shrew the week before. She needed him, that he knew, but he needed her much more than she could ever know.
"Kir?" His voice was a soft whisper as he gave her a squeeze, glancing down upon her peaceful features. Her eyes fluttered open, falling upon his orbs of deep blue, her brows furrowing upon the expression they wore. Worry, despair, frustration. Each emotion was visible to Akirlia even though he did his best to keep her from worrying.
"What is it, Anduin?" she asked, her voice soft, warm, encouraging him to speak as he needed to.
"I don’t know how much more of this I can handle," he admitted, running a hand through his tousled blonde hair. "They’re eating me alive, and for what? I don’t even know if the subjects like me as their leader. I don’t know…"
"Anduin Wrynn," Akirlia said, shifting herself in the bed, her face hovering inches from his. "I know they love you. I hear the whispers as I walk through the kingdom. You are their pride, and they are proud." He made to protest, but she silenced him with a kiss, trailing from his lips downward, placing one upon his chest, directly over his heart.
"I don’t want to hear you stressing over things which are fine," she murmured, shifting herself once more so that she was directly above him. "Know that they all love you." She paused, only to kiss his chest again. "And none more than I." Before he could say another word, she was kissing him again, her lips trailing down his chest and stomach and the rest of the night was spent worshiping the other in each other’s embrace.

Aerleus was never one for parties. Too many people, too much noise. But, he had sworn an oath to protect Akirlia and Anduin, the King and Queen of Stormwind, his friends, which meant wherever they went, he tended to follow. Even if that meant he was completely out of his comfort zone, leaning up against a pillar watching many faces as they twirled around the dance floor.
His eyes moved to Akirlia, hearing her laughter fall on his ears. She looked so happy, you could hear it in her voice, see it in the way she moved, the way she looked at him; Anduin Wrynn.
At first Anduin and him had their differences, they hadn't quite seen eye to eye, but that was more of Aerleus' doing than anyone elses. His feelings for Akirlia were obvious and Anduin saw it. Perhaps they saw each other as rivals, even though there was no contest. Akirlia had already chosen. Aerleus was happy for her. She had never looked happier on her wedding day; clothed in white and silver, eyes threatening to overflow with tears of happiness at any moment.
He knew when you truly cared for someone that the best thing you could do for them was to let them be happy and he was happy for her.
Anduin and him came to an understanding after that and he had sworn himself to them, wishing only to protect his dearest friend's happiness.
There was a noise behind him and he felt a light tug on his cape from around the side of the pillar. He quirked a brow and glanced over his shoulder slightly, seeing a mess of brown curls and grey eyes peeking out from behind the shadows.
“Oh!” The woman exclaimed when she realized she had been spotted. “I'm sorry! I was hiding, can I hide behind you for a bit..?”
Hide behind him? He felt the tug on his cape again, pulling it to shield the woman and he followed her gaze towards the dance floor, a man seemed to be looking for someone.
“He's my betrothed and I really don't want to dance with him..” He noticed her stick her tongue out, making a silly face at the man.
“You don't like him?” Aerleus asked softly. The woman moved a little closer to him, straining to hear him.
“Pardon?”
“You don't like him?” He repeated, slightly raising his voice for her over the music. She shook her head pulling another unlady like expression.
“Nooooo, he's old and grumpy and boring and my mother says that I have to marry him.” She sighed and huffed, wrinkling her nose from side to side.
“I'm not going too.. I just haven't figured out how to tell her yet.” The man faded out of view and the woman slipped out from behind the shadows and stood in front of Aerleus. He glanced over her quickly, she was pale and freckles decorated her face, across her cheeks and nose. She was round faced with lips that up turned into a smile. Her curls appeared to have fallen out their elaborate up do and fell down her back, bangs hiding her eyes. She looked up slightly and slate grey met icy blue and she gasped, backing away a little.
“D-D-Death Knight?” She stuttered, quickly rushing off into the crowd without another word.
Aerleus sighed, shrugging his shoulders and went back to people watching. Although after a while he couldn't shake the feeling he was being watched himself.
Time passed, Aerleus wasn't sure how long, this all seemed to flow in one slow line to him. But he watched with mild interest as the Lord of Outland and his beloved twirled about the dance floor. The looks they were giving each other reminded him of the look of Akirlia and Anduin; that look of utter devotion.
His attention was drawn at a small coughing noise and suddenly a cup of wine was thrust into his hand.
“I'm sorry about that..”
It was the woman from earlier, she shuffled awkwardly trying to smile at him. “I know you can't get drunk and stuff.. but it tastes nice... can you taste? I'm sorry..”
She began to babble, wide eyed and confused for a few moments.
Aerleus blinked a few times, suddenly realizing he should probably stop her before she worked herself up.
He raised the glass to his lips, tasting the wine. It was sweet and tart and the flavour lingered on his tongue long after he had swallowed.
“It's good.” He said softly, she beamed up at him, her babbling coming to a stop as soon as she heard him speak.
“Really? You like it!” She exclaimed. “I felt so bad about earlier, I mean I- just, I'm sorry!” She bowed her head, curls flying about as she did so. Aer blinked a few times, watching her with a puzzled expression.
“You don't have to apologize.” He stated, raising the glass to his lips again. He noticed she did the same with her own after she had straightened. She lowered the glass, running her finger along the rim for a few moments, the soft sound from the glass being lost in the music around them.
“I'm Elaiya.” She said.
“Aerleus.”
“It's nice to meet you Aerleus!” She exclaimed with a smile. They fell into silence, Elaiya bouncing up and down on her heels in time with the beat and Aerleus watching her and the crowds out the corner of his eyes.
He wasn't quite sure why this woman was talking to him. Did Akirlia set him up? He glanced towards her, she was relaxing on her throne and appeared to be in an animated conversation with her friend Syrenniel. The Death Knight had waved her hands over head and made like a motion of swinging a sword and Akirlia burst out laughing, throwing her head back. Anduin also appeared to be listening because he laughed, bringing a hand up to shield his face as he did so.
Syrenniel had turned, the Regent Lord lightly touching her back to get her attention and offered her his hand. She smiled and took it and the pair descended down to the dance floor after bidding her their friends goodbye for now, disappearing once again amongst the dancing couples.
He trailed his eyes back up when he felt a gaze on him and he met Akirlia's eyes. He nodded his head as she waved to him and then she smiled widely, tilting her head to the side indicating towards the woman who was still bouncing up and down next to him.
He shrugged slightly, a confused look on his face and Akirlia had patted Anduin, pointing over to the pair and leaned in as they had a hushed conversation. After a few moments her attention returned to Aerleus and she shrugged.
Okay so Akirlia had nothing to do with it. Apparently Anduin didn't either. But they were both smiling at each other now. Did they know something?
Aerleus returned his attention to Elaiya when she lightly took his empty glass from his hand and placed it on the tray in front of her.
“Will you dance with me?” She asked softly, smiling up at him sheepishly. Aerleus raised a brow.
“....”
She must've took his silence as a yes because she reached out, grasping her hand lightly around his and tugged him in the direction of the dancers. Aerleus went wide eyed, but didn't refuse her, throwing Akirlia a mortified look, but she was in a conversation and didn't appear to notice. He knew how to dance, many times watching Anduin and Akirlia practice together had cemented the steps into his mind and as the music lulled to a slower tune and Aerleus had stepped in, gently placing his hand on her waist. She was short, barely coming up to his collar even in heels but she rested her arms around his neck and they swayed gently to the rhythm.
Aerleus had no idea why he was doing this. He didn't even know this person, they didn't even know him but they seemed content enough in his arms, even though goosebumps had begun to trail up her skin.
“Are you cold?” He asked. She went a little wide eyed, a pink tint coming to her cheeks.
“A little.” She confessed. “But it's a nice cold, this room is super stuffy with all these people.” She smiled in an attempt to reassure him before she tripped over his foot, stumbling to the side, he reached out to catch her and the pair tumbled to the floor with a crash.
There was a hush over the people as they all kinda stared at the pair, Aer had wrapped his arms around Elaiya to protect her and she was currently curled up in his arms.
She moved back, looking at Aerleus with wide eyes before breaking out into a nervous laugh.
“I'm sorry..” She chortled, unable to contain her laughter after a few moments Aerleus found himself joining in, a chuckle on his lips as he got to his feet, offering his hand to her and pulling her to her feet.
Watching the display was Anduin and Akirlia.
“So you said she was one of your cousins?” Akirlia had asked, leaning over to, once again talk in hushed whispers. Anduin had nodded glancing back over to the pair as they danced again.
“I don't know her that well really, but she seems nice, her mother was trying to railroad her into an arranged marriage, much like my advisors-” He paused, pulling a face of annoyance. “- but I think she has gotten a bit of a backbone for herself since she.. well saw us really.” He smiled fondly at the pair.
“I think I might invite her to stay at the castle for a little while...” Anduin trailed off, glancing over to Akirlia suggestively. She met his gaze, a knowing look in her eye.
“I think we can spare someone to be her body guard during that time...”
Send me ♤ for my muses reaction to yours laying in bed with nothing but a rose in their mouth
Akirlia sighed.
Another day without seeing him. Another day without sneaking around the halls, of Stormwind itself, without the king by her side. It pained her to no end to be away from Anduin for so long, though she understood that he had his duties he needed to perform. It didn’t at all help that Anara did what she could to keep them apart.
Placing her hand on the door handle of her room, she pushed it open, beginning to shrug out of her armor as she closed it behind her. She couldn’t wait to plop onto her comfy bed and sleep the night away, leaving all her stress outside of her room door.
As she began to remove her shirt, her eyes finally settled upon the bed, her lips curving into a smile.
Anduin was there, a rose in his mouth and a pillow conveniently covering his manhood. She folded her arms across her chest, nibbling upon her lip as her silvery eyes fell upon his of shining blue, a sheepish smile upon his features.
Taking the rose from his mouth, twirling the flower between his fingers, he said, “It pains me not to see you as often as I wish I could, Kir. But you know how things go…” He shrugged, still looking apologetic as he placed the rose on the bedside table, opening his arms to her. “I wanted to make it up to you,” he continued. “Would you care to join me?” Her lips curved into a smile as she dropped her pants, pulling her shirt over her head, clad in nothing but her black, lace lingerie, and nearly launched herself toward the bed.
"I thought you’d never ask," she mused, snuggling in next to the king.
