Marussia doet nog geen uitspraken over motorleverancier en tweede rijder

Het team van Marussia moet nog de nodige posities invullen voor volgend seizoen. Zo heeft de Russische renstal nog geen motorleverancier. Marussia weet ook nog niet welke rijder het naast Timo Glock zal plaatsen.

De gewoonte is tot nu toe elk jaar een nieuwe debutant, wat het vooruitzicht van Charles Pic niet rooskleurig maakt. Lucas di Grassi en Jerome D'Ambrosio kunnen erover meepraten.

Marussia-directeur Andy Webb stelt de Fransman op de Russische website Championat enigszins gerust met: "Het besluit over de line-up nemen we pas aan het einde van het jaar. We bestuderen constant de situatie van onze rijders, maar ik kan wel zeggen dat we heel tevreden zijn over Charles Pic."

Over een motorleverancier zegt hij: "Het is een lastige beslissing, veel hangt af van het kostenplaatje. We kijken ook verder dan 2013, naar de nieuwe motorformule voor 2014. De nieuwe krachtbronnen zullen tussen 10 en 25 miljoen per jaar gaan kosten. Een team als het onze heeft hulp nodig om zich dat te kunnen veroorloven. In 2013 rijden we in elk geval voor het eerst met KERS. De enige vraag is nog wiens systeem we zullen gebruiken. Dat hangt af van welke motorleverancier we aan ons binden."
