What I learned from #75Hard! A story of realization by Jim Shelvy
Here's what I learned. I'm much weaker than I thought. But, I'm much stronger than I realized. I thought this thing would be a piece of cake but it wasn't. A wise person once said, "If it were easy, everybody would do it." But that wasn't the most important thing I learned. The most important thing changed the way I look at life altogether.
I guess I should first explain what #75Hard is shouldn't I. On the surface, it looks like a fitness challenge but it is far from a fitness challenge, it's exactly what it's creator
Andy Frisella
says it is...A Mental Toughness Challenge.
Here's the rules. For the 75 day duration, before you go to bed for the night, do the following:
Do two 45 minute (minimum) workouts a day, at least 3 hours apart. One has to be outside no matter what the conditions and what the elements hold for you. Seems easy enough.
Drink a gallon of water a day. Check!
Take a progress picture every day. No problem!
Create and follow your diet, no recomendations, no rules. Got it! Oh yeah, no alcohol, no cheat meals, no exceptions. Still got it!
Read 10 pages of a personal development book each day. No audible, no books on tape etc. Real books, really read. O-K!
Oh yeah, there are no excuses, no exceptions, no do-overs. You misss one thing, one day, one time, you start over at day one. Full rules are

.
