"I have very high standards for the women that I interact with, hang out with, and date. Because of this, I tend to meet a lot of attractive women who cannot hold their weight in the other categories. However, since I hate hurting women in any way, and because I too become lonely (par for the course), I keep them around."
Living as a single young black male in these times, face value is barely often the real. We are a group accustomed to being pre-judged. We suffer prejudice at the hands of our peers, our colleagues, and the muddled mass of america before we even get to the remaining pure racists. We show ourselves one way and every angle sees a different view. Needless to say, saturday nights at the "spot" … it goes down as well. You are the sum of your appearance these nights; Over the next days, the truth will spill out.
Young Black Women vary heavily in belief and behavior yet are still bound by what's regionally popular. Learning a person beneath the make-up can often prove to be a fruitless endeavor and quite frankly i'm sick of it.
I do not wish for any specific fashion trend to take ahold of young women; no, I wish the desire to fit any mold or foreign standard of beauty dies. Every person's appreciation of beauty is not the same, why lie against your own beauty and attract what was not meant for you? The end you reach with that is wrong. This goes for gentlemen as well, showing forth a false standard will not bring home a true love.
We all need attention and affection in some dosage. Most are willing to supply 'the right person' with some level of those things (affection & attention). Be true to yourself and when you find the right person you won't have to un-peel yourself to get them to see the real you.
