Highlights of AnE ch132

Before the 8 month hiatus, here are my thoughts about the interesting parts we got to read about in the newest chapter!

About Shemihaza

So, here I am, still thinking that this Shemihaza is indeed our Shiemi, considering Amaimon appeared and Mephisto mentioned that he was not happy to be summoned by her.

In other words, it seems confirmed Shiemi’s powers, while borrowed from Shemihaza’s crystal, seem to be more intense than those of her predecessors. Something to ponder on (why it is that she’s so strong), considering what Section 13 used to work on (strong vessels for the Baals) and the example of the twins... maybe I’m reaching for a link, but Shiemi is special for a reason.

Hopefully she won’t be too exhausted when it comes to trying to seal Satan. Obviously, I’m also still thinking it won’t work on the first try, not without the help/knowledge of ghost/spirit!Yuri.

About Beelzebub and those of kin to demon kings

First of all, I gotta love Mephisto fawning all over and seeing him fondly interact with one of his “siblings” while shitting on the others at the same time. xDD

Also I’m glad Sensei remembered that Beel was supposedly neutral in the Order vs Illuminati conflict (I was a bit “???” about this last month) and explained why he even bothered to show up at all.

It’s also intriguing that he’s the reason we finally get to learn about the hierarchy between demon kings and their kin, as well as what happens when there is a contract between an exorcist and a demon, no matter what kin they are of.

To sum up, demon kings give recommendation when it comes to which side they are on and if those of kin choose a side opposed to them, they’re free to do so, knowing their king will show them no mercy in return. Demons in a contract with exorcists (in other words, familiars) are however exceptions to this concept, which again shows that Gehenna and Assiah are two sides of the same coin and that it’s ridiculous to imagine destroying either side.

Very interesting I must say, especially considering that Satan had no freaking idea (and he’s the one who wants to dominate humankind), despite being the one and only demon god...

...which, to me, means that power seems to define a God in this universe, instead of knowledge, which not only gives Satan some weaknesses to explore in order to defeat him, but also his only kin are his sons who will clearly refuse to obey him, so...either way, he will eventually be defeated. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

In other words, a God who doesn’t know the rules of the universe he is supposedly the God of and which he intends to overthrow is not a God, just a liability. Yet one more argument for him to be defeated thanks to Yuri who knew what this universe is fundamentally about:

Finally for this part, considering that all the Baals showed up but one (Azazel) and that the Emperor of Nothingness (Armumahel) is also still missing, I’m thinking these two are going to be relevant one way or another to this battle, even if it happens after the King of Time gets defeated by Lucifer in his new powerful vessel (*cough*Arthur*cough*) and the situation seems impossible to salvage at first.
