kemi-fucking-fakunle rant #5 (or whatever)
ashley doesn't have to be anyone's cup of tea, but she's unapologetically herself, and it's very grim & unsettling seeing all of these alumni treat ashley like the evel dick of winners just for pointing out angela's obvious microaggressions in defense of kat dunn's dumbass of ALL people... someone who contributed heavily to the groupthink, racism, and kemi's treatment in BB21.
this is a result of the political climate, these fans and the network's new stances. people are increasingly becoming comfortable with complacency, victimizing white privilege and racial antics, and not speaking up for injustices because it isn't trendy anymore. if this were BB21-BB24, we would have seen every single alum condemn it.
jimmy and rachel being the only two cast members to defend ashley is so unfortunate. not to mention, people are having the luxury of downplaying ashley's win because of morgan. the whole ashley v. morgan situation came off hilarious, and i know ashley takes it to hell and back, but morgan absolutely started that first.
imagine clearing the air and still showing love to someone on a social media post, and someone replies humiliating you and making your post feel one-sided. that was mad weird of morgan, and if i were ashley, i'd react the same way — "yeah, bitch, how's vince?"
as a whole, though, i hate that ashley and morgan couldn't at least patch it up in private and everything needs to be publicized. i also hate that BB27 has lingering drama like this AFTER losing mickey. not using grievances, guilt, and tragedy as a reason for people to make up, but i think it's unfortunate that they weren't able to use that time to heal wounds.
i also feel like these fans are WAY too parasocial. the last two seasons that i invested in post-show were BB23 + BB24 because of the cookout, todrick hall, taylor, joseph, and turner's dynamic and the accountability tour among every cast member who contributed to taylor's bullying. every other season after that, you can tell who clout chases, and the fans invest in every single second of their lives prying into their business and provoking drama.
as for that BCC group chat with all of the alums, the way they're treating ashley & even frankie grande is not only screwed up for cast members who speak up for social injustices, but DANGEROUS for future black/gay winners and alumni that will come from the show. they're building a toxic environment and they need to chill.
this is the type of shit that makes me hate being a big brother fan. we want fun feeds, but think that bullying, ignorance, and microaggressions are part of the game and entertainment. there's plenty of ways to be an asshole with morale.
