Unpopular opinion: Queer Justice not Gay Rights

sooo i’m apparently too out of the loop to be familiar with this phrase, but i assume it’s referring to the fact that the “gay rights” movement has been very white-cis-gay -- assimilated white gays (or soccer mom lesbians, i also call them) -- and is happy to throw everyone else under the bus to push forward their own agenda. and no, i’m not really into that!!! i’m here for queer revolution!!!!

It still happens though. It happened in the Nov. 2020 issue of Smithsonian magazine; they erased Rosa Bonheur’s queerness. sasha-feather.dreamwidt…                            

The author you’re mad at isn’t a historian, she’s a journalist with no training? Whereas looking through Bonheur’s wikipedia, it’s quite clear that art historians aren’t erasing her queerness?

Be mad at whatever the fuck lazy journalism you want but the discipline of history is doing the work.
