“Sorry, but you’re gonna have to be more specific than that.” Leaning his head against his hand, Dante appeared fit for sleep as he sat back in his chair. Of course, this was little more than a ruse - he had energy for days on account of his mixed heritage - but one that would hopefully dissuade the woman on the other side of the table from throwing another job his way. He had several open cases to deal with at present, and did not wish to taken on any more until his current ones were completed and he’d been finally paid for services rendered for a change.

“Plenty of demons 'round here want lots of people dead. That’s how it’s always been. Why should one demon stick out from the legions of thrash that claw tooth and nail to our side of the world on a regular basis? Did something happen to you or what?”

@angel-nightshade The stone floor of the prison's sub-layer was cold but quiet, as the 'late' emperor Lelouch snuck through the corridors. By all rights, all known associates of Zero's should have been freed now that Suzaku was acting in his place. But for one reason or another, his knight, his Angel, had been brought here. Though it could cause trouble to interfere so soon after his own death, Lelouch had found himself unable to hold back. As long as he was careful, he told himself, he could make it look as though Angel had escaped on her own. Finding the highest-security cell on this level, Lelouch spent a few minutes working his way in and breathed a sigh of relief. It was her in here. Taking the key he'd stolen earlier from a distracted guard, the teen tapped the glass window to catch her attention. "Angel. It's me, I'll explain later. I'm here to get you out." The computer system here was disappointingly easy to crack, and within a minute, the manual override had been set. One turn of the key in the lock, and those doors slid themselves open one at a time. "Come on, we don't have long before the next patrol. If you have questions I'll answer them along the way!"

Pain was something she normally liked but this was the wrong kind. Deep gashes were on her arms with some still bleeding along with burn marks that looked purple almost. Angel looked tired and felt as if she had taken on an army…no instead it was her own friend in a demonic state.

“…thought you weren’t a demon…” Was her only reply as her vision stared going dim, she felt so tired even as a bite mark was revealed on her neck when she fell over.

“A what?” Thinking straight still proved to be a challenge for him, though a fair amount of clarity was gained the instant he heard, rather than saw, Angel drop to the ground. “Hey!”

Straight away, he’s pounding across the floor to reach her side, forgetting his own ailments to see to her welfare. Giving her features a cursory glance, it doesn’t take long for Jak to spot the bite mark, trace its jagged contours with his fingertips...only to then recoil when a stray strand of dark eco lances from the wound to his fingertips!

“Shit!” He doesn’t bother to mute his curse, clutching the hand that’d touched the bite mark with its opposing limb. Trying to put distance between them in case he causes her further harm.

“...I wish I could’ve prevented this from happening.”

"....Did I drink too much already? Cause you look like a metal bug that had babies with a dragon." (First time seeing a metal head, you pick the "lucky" one she's talking to!)

“… Yes.” Akrim says, scanning for any companions who could take away the clearly intoxicated woman. “Must have.” She must be drunk. He didn’t even have wings. 

Of course he didn’t spot anyone, and they didn’t seem hostile. He glanced around one last time in case before edging closer, furtively holding out his arm to pass her some human object, a can of some sort of food. 

Humans liked objects, they liked them just enough to come close and let themselves be petted for a moment. And humans dazed and confused in the wasteland normally just ate the food ravenously and didn’t care about it while they had it, so long as he didn’t get in the way.

“I told you; you’ve got the wrong guy.” Jak’s words took on a quiet ferocity, meaning every syllable uttered and term used. The cup held in one of his hands threatened to shatter into smithereens the longer their one-side discussion dragged on; a request made to return to a lifestyle he had since given up, put behind him as faced his third decade of life.                 And for the first time in several years, he had the power of choice.                 “I gave up fighting a while ago. Haven’t fired a gun that wasn’t welded to a car in months. Who knows how dull my skills have gotten.”
