The rain has ceased and the waters are receding. It’s time to put down the hammers and nails and desist your arc building because it looks like this is just a run of the mill flood and not one of Biblical proportions. It should be safe for residents to return to their homes, however some homes have been effected by the flood and have been destroyed or damaged. The displaced will be allowed to stay at shelter while they make preparations to lodge elsewhere. Barton Hollow will receive aid and relief for those who are displaced. It will take a while to rebuild and get everything back in shape, but it will be done. Stay tuned for further announcements.

It appears that the rains have let up for now and the meteorologists say that the worst is over. Everyone is advised to stay at the designated shelter until the flood waters go down a bit more. It is estimated that this should not be too long. Thank you all for staying safe and being cooperative.

A state of emergency has been declared in Barton Hollow, and it is advised that all of the residents evacuate their homes and make their way to the Barton Hollow High School gymnasium. The water is rising fast and has already flooded a few homes closer to the river. Further instructions and information will be dispensed upon arrival at the high school. Everyone stay safe and as dry as possible. Time to pack a bag and prepare for a town wide sleep over.

My, oh my, look at that water rise! The rain is most certainly picking up. Could that be a little panic I see out in the community? The town council is talking about possibly declaring a state of emergency and evacuating the residents to a safe area. We’ll see what they plan to do in the meantime as the rain continues to pour.
