I could have sworn I already posted a gull body portrait of her on the blog but apparently not, or at least i can’t find it in my archives. This is Lénore Sainte-Croix, the main character for a comic I’m working on (the very slow kind of working).
She is a bounty huntress in a Steampunk universe. She comes from a wealthy family which has fallen on hard times after her world went through a world war. As a result, she has a posh background and education, but she’s spent pretty much her entire teenagehood around kids from poorer families, which has influenced her attitude and gave her a rough and streetwise edge which contrasts with her prim and proper upbringing, which she still strongly values (something which I hope comes across in her design).
And while her society is recovering, gangs, mobsters and even cults have grown more powerful than ever as people were desperate, and these groups could get them what they needed more easily and cheaply than lawful channels could.
Cops have become so overwhelmed that they end up putting bounties on hundreds if not thousands of criminals at a time in the hope of gaining themselves some new allies, and so a golden age of bounty hunting has begun.
