Imagine coming back to your f/o after you two took a break from one another. Imagine coming back after a heartbreak. Maybe it was unrequited feelings, maybe it was a breakup, maybe you didn't feel special.
Your f/o wouldn't think any less of you because you took a break and wanted to pursue something new. Your f/o wouldn't think any less of you because you came back. They don't think you're pathetic or that you're coming back as a last resort.
Imagine the night you return: they invite you back home (yes, because it's still your home), they order in or cook your comfort meal, they have whatever activity you'd like ready: board games, movies, reading to one another, or anything else, and they'd make the bed.
It still has your stuffed animals. It still has your gifts for them. They still kept your spare clothes in the closet. You never left their mind because you are that special and wanted by them. They cling on to you, reminding you they missed you, every kiss punctuated by reassurance you're so so special to them. Imagine them unable to sleep thinking about you and the time you were gone.
They'll make it up this time.
