They felt incredibly heavy after that last battle--they all did. To bring such a great many people from not only Tibet, but Kathmandu under the Aged Genghis’ instruction had proven difficult, but not impossible. Already there was immeasurable losses and damage to salvage for, such as unwinding the terrestrial onslaught Thanos had unleashed upon the Avengers’ compound. Yet, it was elsewhere at a hospital gods knew where that Tony was being healed, having suffered impressive and horrific burns and wounds alike from using all Infinity Stones. A near impossible feat for Thanos, let alone a human.
In a room rank with sterilization and the faint tinge of ointments and dried blood--a small not unfamiliar to him--did Stephen enter still hobbled with exhaustion from all that he’d done. Sinking into a flimsy chair more heavily than he thought he would’ve, lightless gray trained on the blearily recovering man still likely doped up on pain killers.
