I swear I still do art, y'all
Here, have Bean Bunny from Muppets as Jax TADC
So I was gonna post the experiments I designed for contests, but I would be remiss if I didn't post my design process for another experiment: Experiment 366, Xanad.
You know how I made Lonelyhearts a big Beatles reference? I made Xanad a big reference to the movie Xanadu. (Specifically, I was inspired by the sequence animated by Don Bluth's animation studio for the "Don't Walk Away" sequence.)
I've settled on the second design I did of her. Now all I need to do is add color.
So I forgot to post that I had done this finished art for my version of Lot's Wife. Here she is.
So there's an experiment called Lonelyhearts. I've seen a few interpretations of what this experiment might look like. However, I saw the name and went "Like the Beatles?", because I live with two Beatles fans that have a poster of a certain album in their room.
Yes, he is a walrus, because.
Presented here are my design notes and initial design take. I am working on a more finished take and also have a color palette set up for him.
So I went on vacation recently, and I had some downtime, so I looked at the list of experiments from Lilo & Stitch (as you do). This time around, one of the unseen experiments' names jumped out at me. Experiment 564. AKA "Lot's Wife".
I was like "Lot's Wife? Like from Bible?"
So I had to come up with a design for her.
And the end result is this funky goat thing.
Since she's in the 5-Series of experiments (the elemental and environmental manipulators), and also given her name, I figure it only fitting if looking back at her turned things into salt licks/salt pillars. (Also legit, while I was gathering info, I had the thought of "I wonder if this was what it was like for the designers of the Series when they were coming up with how the Experiments looked and behaved.")
The top image is my "design doc" and initial take on them. The second image is my second take on her: mostly the same except for the added hooves and more banded parts.
Transcript for words on both images under the cut!
My half of an art trade with @scoobydoob. Their half of the trade has been finished since months ago.
I was given the prompt of “a headcanon for any of Mystery Inc.” What I settled on took until now to complete. And that idea was “Daphne had to hone her investigative journal skills somewhere. What if when the gang briefly disbanded during the early 1980s, Daphne interned with Ghost Chasers Magazine?”
This is probably also where she partially acclimated to the reality of actual real ghosts.
Bonus background under the cut, cuz I like how it turned out and there are some details hidden in the final pic!
“You know, Tim... Sometimes I get the thought that we’re getting too old for stuff like this.”
Jiminy and Timothy having a heart-to-heart conversation about... important matters, let’s say.
