Favorite Quote/Part: “I look at young girls now/ in their crushed velour/ skin tight sky blue/ hip huggers with baby doll/ tank tops/ and I think/ I’ve been there/ God, Have I been there.” From I Look At Young Girls Now
Favorite Poems: I Look At Young Girls Now, Saved From Myself, and Sauna
How the Book Effected Me: The poems in the book all relate to the twenty- something crowd. There are many profound thoughts that have you feeling occasionally melancholic, but also leave you with a bit of hope. The free verse makes it easy to connect with and really inspired a spark for me to start writing my own poetry, which ended up being some of my favorite college classes. I have read this book at least twelve times now and every time I find something I love even more.
End Thought: This book is hard to grasp at first, it definitely takes a couple reads.
