Alrighty, because this keeps coming up, let me tell you guys the difference between otherkin and Animafidemism. Otherkin is a broad term describing someone who identifies as non-human either spiritually or psychologically. It covers various beliefs and causes to anyone who simply identifies as non-human. It is more of a catch-all label than anything. Animafidemism is a spirituality. It follows closely to "Animism", which is the belief that everything has a soul, whereas Animafidemism is more specifically the belief that we have souls that are non-human. We are not necessarily people who identify as non-human, but who believe that our souls are not. Otherkin is an umbrella term. Things that are non-human generally fall under it, but it does not own the monopoly on everything that is non-human. I hope that this gives a better understanding of it, but if not I am happy to have a civil discussion about it.
