We went to the hedgehogs cafe. The. Hedgehogs. Cafe. The name is Harry Heddgehog Cafe, which is word game with Japanese name of hedgehog - harinezumi. There is plenty of animal cafe in Tokyo, but I think this is one of the most cute ones! Actually, the name "cafe" is somehow misleading, because it is more zoological shop combined with mini hedgehogs-oriented zoological garden. The visiting plan includes two possibilities: normal visit and visit with snack. But the snack is actually the meal for hedgehogs not for visitor - it is small cup filled with alive bugs. Later you can use the tweezer to feed them to hedgehog. However, in the plan there is one free drink per person included. There are two hedgehogs cafe in Tokyo - in Roppongi and in Harajuku, both located just next to stations. It is possible to make reservation, however we went on the weekday afternoon and there was no queue. But weekends may be more busy! During the visit you can play with hedgehogs - touch them and feed them. They are really cute! Their spines are not that sharp, but in case one feels itchy, there are gloves provided. During our visit there were around 20 hedgehogs in the cafe. All of them have different personality, some of them were very playful, some shy and some were just sleeping:) All of hedgehogs are for sale. The price is dependent on the color of the spines, but they are quite expensive with the price between 30000-100000 JPY. It is possible also to buy all the necessary tools to keep your hedgehoge happy and healthy. For the ones not decided to adopt real animal there is also plenty of hedgehogs oriented gadgets.
