Rare, snow-white puma cub makes her debut at zoo in Nicaragua
This is ITZAE The Rare Albino Puma of Nicaragua!
With snowy white fur, a pink nose, and piercing blue eyes, he stands out as one of the rarest big cats ever seen.
On July 20, 2023, at the Thomas Belt Zoo in Juigalpa, Nicaragua, a unique cub came into the world: Itzae, a pure albino puma.
Albinism in pumas is estimated at less than one in 20,000, which makes Itzae a true natural treasure and a symbol of how extraordinary wildlife can be.
Fun Fact: The name Itzae comes from Mayan, meaning gift from God.

Meet the Spangled Cotinga (Cotinga cayana)! While females of the species come in shades of brown, males have bright turquoise plumage, purple-colored throats, and black patterning along their bodies. This South American bird forages on fruits and berries throughout the forest and is an important seed disperser in its habitat. Since it prefers to hang out on the tops of the tallest trees, it’s hard to spot from the ground.
