How exactly do you pick the asks to answer so that you can further the story?
Well, I typically get like 50+ asks a day. When I look through them, I end up finding 2 or 3 that I know fit a future ‘plot point’ I want to cover. (I have the general plot of the series planned out through to the middle of season 3) I don’t care about the details of the ask, but they usually have to fit the following criteria:
1) They ask at least one straightforward question of some sort. I often end up ignoring the ‘choose-your-own-adventure’ asks that tell Steven “you should do ____” or “Steven, go to _____” (but this isn’t a hard and fast rule, because some of those are neutral or very politely worded and I end up caving.)
2) They are sincere, and clearly intended directly for Steven or another character. (Sometimes I have no idea if you guys are addressing Steven or me.)
3) They don’t try to give away too much information that Steven isn’t supposed to know about yet. For example, to all 20+ lovely people in my inbox yelling “STEVEN, YOU’RE A DIAMOND!!!!” ... sorry, but you won’t break through. :) I appreciate your determination to let our boy know the truth, though. (I ended up breaking this rule for the ask where someone told Steven Garnet has future vision, because it was a simple enough way to give him extra info.)
If they match well enough, I save them as a draft and throw them into a pile.
Then, when I’m drawing, I’ll make plans about what order the next few will go in and make a comic based on the ask.
There’s some asks that I got back in like... September 2018 - when this comic JUST started! - that are STILL in that drafts pile because they are GOOD asks and they have a topic I WANT to talk about... but they won’t be used until like, season 3........ or even later. :P
Also, I just get a LOT of asks in general, and many of them are REALLY similar. For example, the comic I just posted about Steven calling himself glass or a cubic zirconium prompted about 10+ asks encouraging Steven to be more confident in himself and 10+ asks recommending he do a ‘hardness scale’ test on his gem. Obviously, I’m not going to post all of those, so I end up being quite picky.
Either way, even if I don’t answer you - I do read them all! Thank you for your thoughts, guys! I really appreciate you all!
Now that Monster Pop is over, I just wanted to say that your comic really meant a lot to me. I loved the characters and seeing the improvement of your artstyle made me want work on my art more. Now I'm going to study art in college. So thanks for making an amazing story, Maya
aww thank you for telling me, that’s very sweet! good luck with your studies!
I watched a wacky dog movie about a rich dog who gets sent to live a normal life once. It had a fairly standard plot, however something felt off. The actors were dubbed over like cartoon characters. Sometimes the characters treated the dog like a person by talking to him and making him wash dishes. But the weirdest part was that they cgid the dogs paws to make it look like he could use them like hands and clap and wash dishes. It was called Millionaire Dog and it still haunts me
this reads like a horror story. i fully expected to google millionaire dog and find out it doesn’t actually exist.

“why make an au where mickey and minnie are twins when you can make aus...”
What, I've never heard of her, why is she ignored?!?
mickeys nephews don’t appear all that often in animation to begin with, and felicity’s only appeared in the comics so far - so shes sort of in a pre-dt17 della situation where since shes not really that relevant and she’s only appeared in comics so far the chances of her appearing in animation are kinda low atm
especially since currently the mice dont have a show based on their comics the way the ducks do (mickey mouse 2013 being more based on the original shorts)
If the main trio had super powers, what would they be?
i have an au in my head where they’re supervillains, but none of them have real powers, except charlie, who’s a vampire with vaguely occult powers and shapeshifting ability… mason’s a mad scientist and shep is a painting-themed batman ass villain
if the others had powers, mason’s would be time travel and shep’s would be clairvoyance
I just recently found this blog but I really love your art style and ocs. I was wondering if you had any voice headcannons for them?
Thank you! When it comes to voices I have a very hard time imagining what they would sound like.....for like 98% of my ocs I have no idea lol. There are a few that I have a slight idea for such as my oc Mortem; I think she would sound similar to Yellow Diamond but slightly deeper. And my oc Comet would sound similar to the P!ATD song "Death of a Bachelor." But yeah those are just a few 😅
