D&Dtober day 2 - hellhound

I'm so bad at drawing animals so this was definitely a huge challenge. still have a lot more work I could do on it, and a lot more shading, but yknow what. I dont want to.

It's just the most frustrating fucking thing in the entire world when you say "bad thing will happen" and then person you trust goes "bad thing will not happen" (especially if they say "I promise" because anything said from there on is a crock of shit) and then you decide to trust that person and become so fucking optimistic about the situation and then THE THING FUCKING HAPPENS and you are so goddamn let down because you went from dealing with the inevitable future thing to being so hopeful that the future thing wouldn't happen then everyone's standing around acting like they don't know where the thing has come from or WHO COULD HAVE FUCKING GUESSED THE THING.

And for that person to take you from prepared for the worst to hopeful, that person is just another blatantly obvious reminder of why it's just so fucking easy to not give a shit about anyone, to not rely on anyone but yourself, to not get attached to anything (people, ideas, items, values, locations, relationships) because everything and i mean EVERYTHING in this world is relatively temporary. Because everything, your body, your mind, your shelter, your security, your relationships, your opinion, someone else's opinion, they can all change in a heartbeat. And it only takes a heartbeat for everything to go wrong. And to everyone that has ever tried to stop me from steeling myself against these changes because you want me to "open up" or "look at the bright side of life"

You wanna know a direct side effect of only looking at the bright side is? Disappointment. Brutal and emotionally draining let-downs. Pessimism/realism has never caused me any unhappiness and the only side effect to expecting the worst is pleasant surprise. 

And just for the record, not a single person I've opened up to, friends, family, etc., has ever proven to me why I shouldn't steel myself against everything outside of myself. Not. A single. Fucking. One.

Remind me again why I like animals so much?

One of our cats has been in the parents room all day and doesn't do a thing, he spends 5 minutes in my room with the door wide open and pisses right in the middle of my bed.  Again!

Why is it always my stuff the animals destroy?
