Whilst I care passionately about all of our wild cousins I do have a particular passion for these creatures, simply because they are so confiding, so trusting and not to mention environmentally vital. Faced now with a multitude of threats, not only from loss of habitat and our rapidly changing climate but perhaps the most horrifying of all reasons, that is those disgusting inadequates that seek pleasure in their slaughter. Imagine if you will for one moment what kind of person would, when confronted by such beauty seek pleasure in its demise. Of course we now don’t have to look too far to find such wanton perversion, such ignorance and such contempt for animal life. In the last few days our own government have just voted, both bewilderingly and horrifyingly, to reject the inclusion of animal sentience into the EU Withdrawal Bill. In short this denies that animals are capable of feeling pain, probably about the most stupid thing that I’ve ever heard anybody say. That our own government has voted in this way speaks volumes of their morals, their corruption and their denial of even the most basic science. I am and have been routinely embarrassed and ashamed by these despicable imbeciles but this is a new low, even for them!
