Woke up late today and headed straight to @benchyparis up the road for a good cortado and a terrific tamago sando just like Japan. • Queued at @shakespeareandcoparis so C could see where I used to browse and buy my books three decades ago. I actually bought some books this time too. • Then we walked along the quais, past the infamous @laperouse_paris and the bouquinistes. • Stopped on the Pont des arts (where the love locks used to be, thankfully gone now) and then headed to @breizhcafe_fr for a Brittany-style lunch of galette de sarrasin (buckwheat crepe) filled with ham, Comté, fried egg, piment d’espelette-flavored salted butter, fresh apple juice plus their homemade caramel au beurre salé ice cream. • Walked the few kilometers back to the hotel and took it easy until dinnertime where we went back to @anima.paris since we ate so well there on our first night. We ate even better tonight. • One of the problems of Paris in August is that most places have already closed for their yearly summer holiday but it’s also nice because the streets are quiet and not crowded, at least in the 6th arrondissement where we’re staying. • #TravelswithaGourmet #TWAGParis #shakespeareandcompany #CafeBreizh #AnimaParis #Foodie #lefooding (at 6ème arrondissement, Paris) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cg2gp5_KhWK/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
