Sun and Moon being accidentally sentient drawings , given too much artistic attention not to become somewhat sentiant. Drawn for a kids show but inevitably a cancelled project. Animators who worked on the concept art and painted the cells swear in the dead of night their drawings blinked back at them, out of their peripheral vision.
Taking a coffee break and coming back to their desk, and hey weren't Sundrop's rays just up a little further? Moondrop's hat just a little further to the left, draped over the opposite shoulder? Maybe just imagining it. Weird.
Weird to be toons stuck behind a wall you can see but can't reach. They're alive, right? Why didn't they have a say in their show being axed right before airing? What were they supposed to do now?
