Invincible Fight Girl is literally so so good and the animation is INCREDIBLE and I never hear ANYTHING about it on here and that makes me so sad. Its stunning! Its full of tropes and dismantling tropes! It's full of POC and disabilities and focuses on using your body and your skills, not going along with what people expect of you or have done in the past.

Did I mention that the 2D handdrawn animation is REALLY REALLY GOOD?

The Midnight Gospel (series)- by netflix ig idk

When this came out I saw it and said WOAH, that's sick, and I like it, but I wasn't actually able to watch it until JUST now, and I was very right about liking it. I watched it in a day but that's not much considering it's 8 eps but 8 GOOD EPS.

Watching The Midnight Gospel feels more like smoking The Midnight Gospel, watching it and hearing it is an experience. It's dialogue feels very real, and I am genuinely not sure if it's scripted or not, because it's like a podcast, it feels like listening to that one therapist gecko guy who receives calls about people's lives. The topics they touch upon range from spirituality, to loneliness, to philosophy, and how to deal with death. This is also about drugs and enemies and ice cream.

So if you're into any of that def watch it

The art is incredible, it feels like an acid trip altho I haven't done acid but if I did I think it'd be this. Clancy, our main character, is quite the guy, idk what else to say.

I'm sad I haven't seen this floating around and I've only seen one(1) clip and the trailer which idek how i found. It's a gem for sure. It's very much like Bee and Puppycat, but instead of just floating around the whole time around certain heavy topics, they are discussed head on and the stakes are higher. There's also lots of gore in the series but I thought it was awesome.

Depending the kind of person you are I think this series will be interpreted very differently, but personally it felt like connecting to a friend or a weeded out stranger about the things you usually don't let leave your head, and that vulnerability be reciprocated back. It made my chest hurt and I had to rewind sometimes when I missed something important and I did cry.

I find it funny how lonely Clancy is, because altho I wasn't able to watch it when it came out, I liked it so much I made OCs based on what little I gathered from the trailer. That's the thing tho. OCs. Two of them, two friends. I wanted to make sure my characters wouldn't be going around having adventures by themselves and I wanted them to feel comfort in each other while vagabonding around. I also dunno if the trailer showed Clancy's interest in collecting shoes, but I did make a flipaclip animation of one of the character's shoes leaking an eternal river with a singular fish in it. Also one about a bee talking back.

P.S. i recommend this video essay, it's super awesome and this series isn't mentioned but it fits well anyways :)
