Fandom Friday, 6/05: Fanfiction!

Hello and good morning to you all, and welcome once again to another Fandom Friday. As always, this is your host Coffeelorian or if you prefer, just plain Coffee, back with another update from around the vast fandom that is Star Wars.

Before we begin, however, I wonder if I might ask you all a somewhat silly question:

Are people not interacting with fanfiction any more, or is it just my imagination…?

I only ask this because I’ve seen long form stories get little to no attention whatsoever, whereas (depending on the audience) the one-shots can get anywhere from 20 notes in total to well over one hundred plus…so perhaps this leads me to my next question of the day:

What areas of the Star Wars Fanfiction world could use more attention as far as readership goes?

Feel free to drop some hints in the comments or reblogs, and perhaps if I have the time, I can start adding a few more to my fandom recs tag!

5 + 1 Fic Friday Roundup: De-aging ft. Danny Phantom

Some fics with de-ageing involving least one Danny Phantom character.

Nothing But The Dead And Dying (back in my little town) (AO3) - "Dan has just been rescued and is feeling a bit shorter than usual. Jason Todd has just been petitioned like he's a feudal warlord, which has never happened before but he could maybe get used to. They can probably make this work so long as Batman doesn't stick his nose in. Yeah, like that'll happen."

Dad Shaped (AO3) - "After accidentally getting de-aged by the GIW, Danny and Dani find themselves in Gotham and latch onto the nearest undead person they can find to avoid drawing attention to themselves. Jason, said nearest undead person, makes the mistake of feeding them and now they won't go away."

Raising Phantom AU (AO3) - "Jasmine started working at Gotham's Public Library, while having to take care of her baby brother and going to college. Danny is frustrated at having to be in hiding as well as everything else poor in his life. Also there is something off about the man that comes in to check books out. His family included. Batfamily playing a game to figure out these two's life only for things to get serious quickly."

The Son of the Red Hood (AO3) - "Clockwork intervenes in Danny's life so that he can learn all he needs to be king of the Infinite Realms, and hopefully this time he can actually be loved and cared for the way he deserves."

Imprint (AO3) - "He screwed his eyes shut, held his breath, desperately wished that he was back in his safehouse, alone and blissfully unaware. But the weight in his hands remained, and when he opened his eyes, it was to the bean-shaped 'fuck you' the Lazarus Pit had kindly bestowed upon him, arms and legs folded up against his front beneath off-white muslin while tiny lips smacked softly."

Bonus: Visitant Lights (AO3) - "After a run in with Vlad that left the entire Fenton family turned into little children and a subsequential kidnapping by what they think are ninjas the Fenton family escape to Gotham to lay low and figure out how to reverse their ages as Sam and Tucker help where they can, growing sense of dread as months goes by and they are no closer to fixing this."

Is Fandom Friday a thing?

Everyone's (rightfully) going ga-ga over Hunter and Wrecker getting the civvies hot treatment in the previews of the five-part Bad Batch comics that's coming out.

Someone on Discord mentioned that it would be great if Tech could be shown in civvies too...so I figured why not?

(I miiiiiiight do Crosshair too - but it's the end of the semester, and I've got NSF reviews, baking, gift-making, and various other Holiday nonsense to deal with! Can't promise)

Heated Rivalry Headcanon #1:

Ilya is a grower and Shane is a shower.

Ilya (cold climate adapted?) who doesn’t look like he’s got much to brag about and then once he gets going it’s like JESUS CHRIST ITS STILL GROWING WHEN WILL IT STOP MAKE IT STOP MAKE IT STOP MAKE IT STOP ITS SOOOOO BIG!!!! And of course he relishes the gotcha of secretly being hung like a horse. Shane loves it too because 1) it’s Ilya; and 2) he’s a burgeoning size queen; and 3) once Ilya gets hard he just fits so perfectly in Shane’s hand like the best, most perfect toy made real.

Meanwhile, Shane has got a respectable sized dick (maybe 5, 6, or 7 inches) and there’s not a lot of difference between soft and hard for him in terms of size. Which Ilya adores because 1) it’s Shane; and 2) he loves being able to tease Shane in public and no one else’s the wiser…except Shane for ~sOmE rEaSoN~ is getting all blushy and fidgety; and 3) it just ✨fits✨ so perfectly in his mouth-slash-down his throat that he can’t get enough.
