Poseidon Entertainment has made this great video on Chuck E Cheese knockoffs and I highly recommend checking it out.

I already knew about most of these, but it was neat seeing rare footage and pictures and learning about the Sally Corp vs Captain Andy's drama. A shame Gigglebee's didn't work out as I find their concept of animatronics delivering your pizza and interacting with you interesting. I also wish at least one or two of these chains survived so modern CEC would have competition and be forced to actually innovate.

I had a dream where there was a CEC competitior with high quality and retro style theming that managed to popular enough to buy CEC out instead of Showbiz buying CEC out, and things went differently [and much better] for CEC in this dream universe. Here is the post if anyone's interested:

Lost Animatronics: The Rockin’ Rascals

The Rocking Rascals,  a animatronic band trio made specifically for a Celebration Station in Knoxville TN by Sally Dark Rides. They were established around 1996 and are Daniel and the Dixie Diggers retrofitted with Celebration Station’s preexisting characters. The Band seems to have had a bright and cheery theme with a cool 90′s flare, they would cover retro songs and create a great atmosphere for birthdays at the location. Eventually however their location did close, and sadly we don’t know what ended up happening to the gang, I’d like to think they simply returned to being DATDD and went on to thrive for years, but no one can be sure.

I’ll be making posts about the main stage band (pictured above) and their side stage act (Hurricane Hound).

I’ve located another partial set of the Circus World Jamboree, in amazing condition thanks to someone super nice here on tumblr.

These sweet babies are sitting in the back of a circus themed restaurant in the park. They’re non operational, but well kept. The employees even know them by name. As far as i know only 8 sets of this band were ever produced.

Pictured: 2 main characters (barney bear on drums, and lucky the lion who leads the band)

1 side character (The Great Bodini), he combines with special effects to miss his cannon trick net & crash into the wall every time.

Location: Castle Park (Amusement Park) In California.
