So, if you haven't heard, CEC has introduced a new type of store, basically stripping a CEC of its arcades, replacing it with claw machines only to supercharge the child gambling, and added some bigger play zones.
On top of this, the building is a SLURRY of ai slop on every wall and marketing material. On top of this they are showing fully ai generated ads for the place.
With a fandom that's only here for the creativity and imagination the past of the company brought, of course this brought the wrath you'd expect. Especially once it was found out that employees were posting 5 star reviews before it had even opened.
Immediately the Google Maps page starts being flooded today with bad reviews. By the evening we're down to 1.3 stars. There's a few other 5 stars in there that maybe were fake, but we weren't unsure. Someone claimed however they heard employees mentioning they were gonna review-bomb back to boost the stars.
In the meantime however, a corporate employee on Tiktok who had posted some Adventure World footage sees the criticism in the comments, and makes the most stupid response you can ever imagine. CEC has not currently commented on the use of AI, and after 2 hours of these comments being up he deletes them.
But sure enough, by 7pm tonight we start seeing those reverse review bombs come in. Literally a single minute a part each. It does start slowing down, but we go from 30 reviews to 50 in half an hour.
Even worse, we have now confirmed that 5 of those names are people working at CEC corporate! This is deliberate.
Adventure World's Grand Opening is slated for the 12th, and I'm sure they're trying to save face and get those ratings up beforehand. If you wanna continue reading on this saga as it goes on our thread is here:

EDIT: And right after this it seems Google is checking and shadowbanning reviews (you wont see if yours is deleted). Mine was thorough and yet it got removed. The rating has gone from 2.2 stars to 2.3. If you leave a review expect it to be mass reported i guess!
EDIT 2: REVIEWS HAVE ALL BEEN WIPED AND DISABLED! It looks like you can still direct your criticism in the Q&A section. What an absolute bitch move to silence your critics. The thread has most of the reviews saved.

it wasn't the whole slide that scared me. just the purple section of it. because i was scared of mr. munch. and going through the purple part of the slide made me feel like i was surrounded by mr. munch. and that scared me
