Every moment strung along in her life like a collection of Mon Calamari pearls, some larger, some more beautiful, some more imposing. But, sometimes, in her necklace of memories, it was the smaller of them, the more misshapen that she loved the most. Where would this one fall?
A colorful crowd milled about the stately reception room, the smooth curves of pillars and walls lending a sense of something more intimate into the rather expansive space, encourage conversations both large and more sectioned off. Perfectly appointed to gather her husband's often recalcitrant colleagues and hopefully spark some partnerships and greater understanding. And, hopefully, to ensure Alderaan would be as aware of others' needs as they were of hers.
Such as the young senator from Corona, whose story had horrified many across the galaxy who had heard of it. Personally, she had witnessed, oft from afar, the turmoil Rapunzel's kidnapping had cause in the lives of the now young woman's mother and father, her own childish heart aching for them. Now, as she slowly came to terms with seeking to have her own child coming to an end, she could understand what had been their horrible reality for so many cycles a little better.
If only she could use that in some way to better put the princess at ease, because she certainly seemed to be failing at it. ❝ I was only joking, my dear, ❞ the queen offered her hand, a silent apology in her words. ❝ You were being an excellent communicator. ❞ Though she knew full well the importance of having a goal, a task in mind when one's world was upended, she couldn't help for a moment but contemplate if perhaps the King and Queen of Corona had pushed their daughter out into the wider galaxy a tad too swiftly. ❝ I only meant that we are allowed to not put our entire selves out to others, that we should hold back a little for ourselves, though that was not prompted by anything close to prying on your part. My words, my joke, was for you. ❞

The senator failed to recognize that she had spoken aloud until the clone officer's voice beside her questioned her thought. Her mind was clearly far too high into the clouds if she had lost track of her tongue. Not that she was considering frivolous things, but rather had caught herself up in her series of arguments so completely. A nearly sheepish smile crossed her lips, golden gaze slipping about to meet his helmet lenses. ❝ My apologies, Lieutenant. That was only a line I am considering using. A loose thought, I fear. ❞
Softly vibrating from the thrum rumbling through the shuttle, her hands smoothed her tunic's skirts, head cocking at his questions with a not so subtle hint of surprise emerging. ❝ That was not included in your briefing? I might be too used to working with your brothers off planet if I have failed to note that they do not inform the guard of the mission. ❞ An oversight that would now have to be inscribed onto her ever growing list of concerns which fell into her realm to bring up. ❝ The mission should, hopefully, be a smooth one. We are attempting to convince Overin to revoke their neutrality due to an ore deposit they have on one of their moons which would help in relieving a shortage which has emerged in the Kuat Drive Yards. If all goes well, as it should, a standard diplomatic meeting. ❞

Coming from someone as awesome as you? This is a great honor, thank you.
Stirred amidst a flurry of thoughts, umber eyes break from a gaping stare. Finn shifts, swiftly averting his eyes in an unsuccessful attempt to look natural. He sighs inwardly and resolves to cast @animcsus an apologetic grin. ❛ Sorry but... have I seen you somewhere before...? ❜

squinting against the cloud of dust kicked up from the street by a sudden gust of wind, margot was forced to stop and shield her face with her sleeve like many on the street. unless of course, she wanted a lung full of dirt and a coughing fit. she could only hope it would rain soon, not enough to turn the main street into a mire, but rather just enough to settle the dust. simply another one of the drawbacks of living in the west… or at least a drier climate and a tiny town.
dust cloud subsiding, the schoolteacher continued toward the general store, a list of needed items in hand, before swiftly side stepping a man who suddenly stepped out of one of the offices which came before it. ❝ pardon me. ❞ far from annoyed, her voiced lilted almost amused as she glanced over her shoulder at the stranger with dancing blue eyes. ❝ lucky you for avoiding that miniature dust storm. ❞ nothing thought of it truly… — @animcsus
