Man i kinda knew that when the witch hat anime released there would be a lot of only watches generic battle shounen/isekai and still manages to not understand the bare bones of the story dudebros giving it hate because “OoOoOo nOoOO aN StOrY WitH ThEmEs AnD GoOd WoRlDbuLdInG ThAt dOeStn SuRvIVe Of SuPeRfIcIaL FiGhTs, HyPe MoMeNtS, FeMaLe SeXuAliZaTiOn AnD CoMpLeTly UnNeCeSarY EdGy ShIt AnD HaS SoMeThInG To SaY wItH iTs CaRaCtErs AnD PloTLiNeS, My WoRst EnEmY”but i still manages to get angry at them because my dude are you seriously talking shit about witch hat atelier WHILE GLAZING CLASSROOM OF THE ELITTE??????and saying that the dragon solution didnt make sense when THE WHOLE POINT OF THE ANIME IS ABOUT MAGIC AS A WAY TO MAKE THE IMPOSSIBLE POSSIBLE AND MAKE EVERYONE HAPPY!!!!oooooohh but its NoT DaRk, EdGy and HypE só its of course bad to them!!!!!my dude at that point youre basically saying that anime doesnt have any artistic or storytelling worth beyond “LOOK HOW BADASS THIS CARACTER ACTS!!!!”this type of people are why solo leveling had won best anime of the year…..and the worst part is when you ask those guys any anime with half of creativity ot thematic ressonance they just give you the same generic shounen aswer that doesnt cone even close in any aspect were questioning……are you seriously telling me that HUNTERXHUNTER, yes HUNTERXHUNTER,one of the most disjointed, pratically incompeheensible magic systems out there were the audience doesnt get basic things such as power limitations and what everyone is able to do in the moment is a better magic system them WITCH HAT ATELIER?????guys as much as i love Hunterxhunter i want you to hear yourselfs from one moment…..you do understand that if youre magic system is soooo incompreheensible that youre audience is completly lost on caracter capability and basic logic really them doesnt matter how complex or inteligent it is IT IS NOT A GOOD MAGIC SYSTEM!!!!like authors with a lot o respect in the fantasy settings such as brando sanderson have already Said that a good magic system IS ABOUT CARACTER CAPABILITY AND STAKES!!!!!MORE THEN ANYTHING ITS RULES NEED TO BE CLEAR TO THE AUDIENCE SO WHAT THE CARACTERS DO MAKE SENSE!!!!!which anyone who watched Hunterxhunter CAN TELL ITS NOT ITS CASE!!!!and about the anime being for children and not dark enough i kinda need to ask two things
1-WHY THE FUCK DO AN STORY NEED TO HAVE DARK CONTENT TO BE GOOD!!!!???like you can have a good story that can be targeted to everyone and still manages to be extremly well written and theres nothing with less artistic merit in doing a story more optmistic about its themes like you can have a good story and not have trigger warnings….actually i think the argument should be the opposite….if youre putting something heavy in youre story you should have a motive why because then it Will just come up as desnecessary suffering that adds no point and if youre story is unable to deal with heavy themes with theyre respect they deserve and with the weight and importance they deserve they should not be INCLUDED.POINT
2-speaking of dark content WITCH HAT ATELIER HAS DARK CONTENT!!!!like CUSTAS WHOLE DEAL, LULUCYS RAPE, EUNIE TRANSFORMATION ETC but like those dark things are given the importance they deserve plus time to breath and for those dudebros if an story isnt an endless storm of desnecessary suffering porn them its BORING and its BAD like witch hat atelier is not the darkest shit around but its not an angelic no problem story aswell, but for those people it doesnt matter how the story handles its dark content it matter what story is the edgiest and darkest, even if this darkness have zero effect on the story and its handled like shit!!!!i dare them to find a story about suffering more meaninfull them custas but they cant because ooooo its not dark enough gonna fall asleep if i dont see blood and desnecessary gore in two seconds
