Can any weebs help me out here? I'm watching revolutionary girl Utena, and about 15 minutes into episode 35 chuchu is wearing this eye mask.
and I was like... wait I've seen that someplace before... where have I seen that. And then I remembered a relatively obscure anime from the early 2000s called Karas. Which has a character Yurine, with the same one eye open style mask.
Just based on the release dates, it seems like the Karas one was inspired by this Utena one, but I can't seem to find any definitive answers about their correlation. Maybe they are both based on something else? They are somehow related for sure. Too fucking similar to not be. I just can't find any correlation myself.
I will keep looking and report back if I find anything.
"CHiCO with HoneyWorks is coming back."
Good. I hope they'll finish this lore this time.
Kuromi needs lots of love in Onegai My Melody. Lots of the Marilanders hated on her, even when she didn’t do something bad. She and My Melo had lots of misunderstandings, which is part of why Kuromi wanted revenge. She can be an angry person, but it would be hard to be calm if you had a similar experience to her. Kuromi has been through a lot, but she’s still passionate and is capable of doing nice things.
How I pull up to the functions
It doesn't mention this specifically anywhere in Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, but did anyone else pick up on the fact that Edward and Alphonse are descendants of Xerxes?
Hohenheim was a Xerxian slave, and he was the only survivor of Father's philosopher's stone, therefore the only Xerxian to have children after the civilization was wiped out.
So, Ed and Al are not only descendants of Xerxes, they are the last Xerxians left in existence.
This conclusion is pretty obvious once you think about it (I realized it when I noticed the Xerxian people have the same blonde hair and gold eyes as Ed, Al, and Hohenheim), but I think it's interesting that it's never once pointed out in the series. Ed never realizes he's Xerxian, and he never actively seeks out information about his lineage, which makes sense in the story because of his feelings of abandonment toward his dad, so it's assumed he doesn't want to know about his father's origin.
But still, I just think it's strange that they completely leave out those details of Ed and Al's background. I'm not sure if they mention anything about it in the manga, but it would have been cool if it was included in the anime.
Edit: a lot of people are saying that adding it doesn't do anything for the plot, but I honestly disagree. I think it would have added an extra layer to an already fantasic story. Just my thoughts.
