I love Chevalier for many reasons!
While I'm at it (IkePri x Classic anime throwbacks), when everyone else can't help but compare Chevalier to other Ikemen/Cybird characters, I was strongly reminded of these characters who left a deep impression on me while reading Chevalier's route.
It's not Kenshin or Nobunaga I see everytime I look at Chevalier but these guys:
(my age is showing, lol)
1. Shi Senka (Sainkoku Monogatari):
THE one and only Emperor Senka - ruthless, merciless in battle, but extremely talented. He ended the hundred years of war in Saiunkoku. The only emperor whom the Purple Immortal deemed worthy of serving after Sou Gen (the founder of Saiunkoku). Also, like Chev, Shi Senka only loved and cared for one woman in his lifetime.
2. Treize Khushrenada (Gundam Wing):
The charismatic leader who defied absolute pacifism and led the Earth sphere to war against space colonies. Many soldiers died but Treize considered it a noble and inevitable sacrifice. Chev legit gave me Treize flashbacks (the goosebumps) in that climactic scene where he confessed to Belle that he memorizes the names of Rhodolite soldiers who died in battle to carry their legacy. That was SO TREIZE, in an iconic GW episode.
Also, Lady Une (whom Teize loved) somewhat resembles Belle IMO. They sort of look alike, but Belle's design is much softer and younger.
3. Charioce XVII/Chris (Shingeki no Bahamut: Virgin Soul):
Ruthless king who could sacrifice anything for his goal. He valued results over the means. No time for bullshit. He wanted to dominate the three realms who was trying to oppress his kingdom (the human realm). The only king who had that big of a vision.
Same sassy energy. Same black FLUFFY cape. Sexy and dangerous, with a hidden gentle side. Like Chev, his emotions or "human" side was drawn out by only one girl... AND dancing was also their thing. Their story ended with a romantic dance. 💕
These guys had no hesitation going to war. They were ruthless. But it's not like they went to war simply because they enjoyed killing. They had a bigger purpose/goal for going into battle, the war was a means to an end. And they have a soft spot for only one woman.
Also, another resemblance: lots of people want them dead 🤣
