Finally a Cosplay post! And yes, finally another update blog post so you all can know I’m alive and doing things. I’ve had an interesting month!

It started off in such a weird, depressing way too that now I’m looking back and I realize how putting positive vibes out there and clearing my head of negative thoughts really does change the way everything works out. The month started off where I felt like I was disliked, that I had lost my fun flare and was no longer fun to be around. Then, my work schedule wasn’t what I wanted and I felt like I was being thrown around, made to work shitty shifts and that I would lose my summer fun. Not only that, I usually had Saturdays off so I was planning on attending the conventions, dressing up and buying all sorts of nik naks when suddenly it looked like I’d be working ALL THE WEEKENDS IN AUGUST. I was feeling sorry for myself and wondering why things weren’t working out the way I wanted them too. Something had to change and I was tried of being grumpy, and being negative.

I dug out my Tone It Up book, Fit, Fierce and Fabulous and began going thru the days with daily mantras and trying to get happiness back into my live. Started waking up early again, running and left the bad, hurtful feelings behind and everything started looking up again. I had a good schedule at work which allowed me to have Saturdays off so I was able to attend Anime Rev!

Since it was a weeks notice I had to finish Martin’s costume, which was a surprise for the Con. I had this idea for an interesting costume and we brainstormed ideas on how we wanted this to turn out. I, myself was going to dress up as Artimus from Sailor Moon (without my original Luna tho. I did find someone who did well!)  I went and bought my outfit for my white cat at Metro and had my kitten mittens ready, but I had to start sewing Martin’s costume.

So to start we bought the Ash jacket so we could add stuff to it and change it to what we wanted (And I’m not a pro at sewing just yet). We added studs to the pockets:

Then we bought fur for the gloves and collar and the yellow fur for the Pikachu pelt. Originally I was going to make the gloves myself and sew on the fur but that didn’t work out…

So that’s how they started with Martin’s measurements but after I completed sewing them, they barely fit my own hands. Lots to learn still! After that fail I went out and bought workout gloves, which worked out since we were making a thug Ash and figured it would be a better look with black leathish gloves.

For the fur we used a shirt dye Royal red but if we washed it, the dye would wash out so instead we combed the fur so that it wouldn’t be stiff from the colour.

Velcro was my best friend. I used it for the collar and the gloves so that it was easy to get on AND we can change up the furs too. Now, mind you, I started doing all this a day or two before the con with the expectation that Martin might not be able to go. But I completed most of it the night before and did the finishing touches the morning of the con. Which included suited Martin up and placing the chain on the pelt.

Overall it wasn’t that hard to make this and it’ll be added too as well to make it more epic. We got tons of reactions from people, the most common one was “That’s terrible but awesome at the same time.” And we had a mini photoshop with our Pokemon Go friend (Link to her site will be posted later.)

I think Martin enjoyed himself and liked all the attention :)
