Animinneapolis 2k16 Recap :
This past weekend, I attended Animinneapolis 2016. I met so many great people and had plenty of laughs.
On Friday, I suited up in my Momiji Sohma cosplay for the first time and had a lot of fun with it! It was cool to hear other Fruits Basket fans call me out or have people ask me if I was cosplaying Momiji. That night, we put on ‘Ask The Sohma Squad’, equipped with a Hatsuharu, Kyo, Tohru, Akito, and Ayame. I was so glad that people enjoyed the onigiri stickers I handed out (they were a labor of love, I can assure you). Thank you to our panelists and to our audience of passionate Fruits Basket fans! Later on in the night, two of my friends and I ventured out toward the Steam Powered Giraffe concert. Let me tell you, this concert was so mello. It was such a nice experience to just go to a concert to enjoy the music and theatrics without worrying about standing on my tiptoes or having to strain to hear the band. The group had a great turnout and it made for a fantastic end to our day.
Saturday was Honey day and I enjoyed walking around with friends, not needing to be anywhere. It still makes me happy when people who know the character stop to say hi. Two of my friends and I attended the butler cafe and had loads of fun! Great job to all the maids and butlers, by the way, and thanks for putting up with us. :) The rest of the night consisted of hanging out with friends before attending a Greg Ayres panel. I was able to give him the sticker before he had to run off, so I was super excited.
I left the hotel on Sunday. It was really bittersweet because, while I craved the comfort of my own bed, I really do love the energy that you get from conventions. They’re truly unique and fun experiences and I hope to make it to more in the future.
P.S. I splurged on a bigger purchase (something I usually don’t do).
It’s a big tsum-tsum-esque Makoto from Free! Iwatobi Swim Club. I usually don’t buy plushies at cons, but he was just too cute. Whoops!
If anyone who went to AniMinneapolis 2016 has a picture of a tall Dipper and small Wendy, please send it to me
That was my girlfriend and I. Every person that asked for my picture was a stranger and my girlfriend doesn’t like taking selfies, so I don’t have any pictures.
