Closeups of inks I drew for a reimagining of a character I created when I was in middle school. A militant zebra character. The completed and full color piece was in the THEN/NOW- Childhood Revisted Volume 2 book. Good times! #zebra #animorphic #cartoonanimal #inkdrawing #cartoonistsofinstagram #1980s #80skid #robbmommaerts https://www.instagram.com/p/CHfmqn1lQuv/?igshid=5kp0p72pxjlf
Now it has “Jane Doe” the protagonist from the first Alternamorphs books as a chronic time traveler. She’s been in multiple timelines, some of them very bad future some of them silly. Her sario rip experiences were always messed up usually with her arriving months before the others and being forced to survive alone. And ellimist trips being especially bad with a tendency to be left behind in alternate timelines or far away places for years before being snapped back. She’s lead resistances, been a grandmother, died hundreds of times (some of those were being deliberately killed by the animorphs), made a controller, lived as an intergalactic diplomat. She knows time travel is bullshit, the multiverse exists, there’s a lot of other god things out there than just the Ellimist and Crayak, and that death waits around every corner so who cares?
Then the Na remove her Z-Space anchor and attaches it to their own brand of morphing tech that’s pretty much a yeerk crossed with a symbiote crossed with the Creature Power Suits from Wild Kratts. Which leads to the removal of Jane’s time travel bug.
Thus this is Jane’s last life and the last chance to try and get a ‘happy’ ending for the war come hell or high water.
The morph worms are morphing tech made with weapons use and comparative anatomy in mind. Having smoother and faster transformations and the ability to go from one morph to another. Also the ability to choose size settings between real size and not changing the host’s size. The morph worms share a psychic hive mind and share morph data, if one worm acquires something then the other worms have access to that morph as well. And the only thing restricting time in morph is the energy requirements of the worms.
-Downsides: morphs are primarily the color of the worm which can often be primary colors not normally seen in nature. Worms heal injuries, unlike andalite morphing tech which works more on recorded templates, and the process can be slow especially so for nonlife-threatening injuries. Worms can disagree with the host and can choose not to morph, morph something other than what the host wants, or abandon the host entirely.
Jane’s morphs:
-Battle- spotted hyena, dakotaraptor (pretty much just like a big land eagle), Nile crocodile, Tyrannosarus rex (pretty much like a big land eagle crossed with a bear), andalite
-Stealth- hornet, crow, pigeon, ferret, hampster
-Flying- harris hawk, pigeon, harpy eagle, goose, nyctosaurus
-water- trout, tuna, great white shark, bottlenose dolphin, orca, sperm whale, colossal squid, tylosaurus
Jane’s first recruit is Melissa Chapman.
Melissa is strong and focused on the goal of the mission and the overall war. Melissa deserves to know the truth, not just of the war but everything about her futures too.
Melissa’s morphs:
-Battle- hippo, cougar, moose, jaguar
-Stealth- honey bee, german cockroach, crow, house cat
