Ah yeah, it's a Jake book, theme: leadership.
You know, Animorphs is really different from a lot of kids' media. Kids' media tends to be very moralistic. The most moral choice is the right one, the one that will work out. Animorphs is in its own way very moral oriented, but the moral is "yeah, sometimes people don't have good options, and picking a bad options is all that's left. If you've been there? It wasn't your fault that you didn't have better options."
Which I think is appropriate! Sometimes kids are in "no good options" situations, and need that mirrored in fiction. Sometimes getting an outside "yes, that's real and it's messed up" is life saving.
