My final video for quadruped exercise. I finally managed to finish the run animation. It could be better but I’ll try doing a proper one next time.

My final video for quadruped exercise. I finally managed to finish the run animation. It could be better but I’ll try doing a proper one next time.
Progress on my quadruped walk animation. I decided to animate a capybara instead of a dog, they’re one of my favourite animals.
But it was more challenging than I thought. Capybara anatomy isn’t too different from a dog but some parts gave me a hard time. The front legs especially, I’ll have to work on them a little more.
I drew many capybaras before. For this animation, I sketched its skeleton really quickly to simplify things a little. I also included some of the drawings I did earlier this year.
weight exercises - lift
fixes needed: -scaling, body gets bigger toward the end and head needs to be more consistent -foot placement at beginning is too far from low table -arm and shoulder movement needs to be slower as tray is put down in order to better show heaviness of tray
sketchbook/sticky note research for weight animation
I haven’t had the time to finish my rough for the obstacle course, but I tried fixing the ending a little bit.
I think the monkey is too far away at the beginning, but once I’m done with this animation I’ll add som zooms and camera movement and hopefully it’ll look better.
Not too happy with the background, but I like trying new styles and this is one of them.
Initial sketch for the idea. I had a frog in mind at first, but went with a monkey in the end.
Compiled video for the quad walk crit. I’ll update it once I’m done with the other parts (sitting, running, trotting maybe).
Cleaned up version of my push animation. I wanted to see what I could do if I added expressions to the character.
I’m happy with the result, would like to do the other ones as well when I have time.
Running dog sketches.
I googled “dog running” and did some sketches. I think I managed to have a better understanding of a quadruped animal’s anatomy. I tried to draw one without referance at the end and I think it turned out fine.
