"Elizabeth? What on earth are you doing for sale on eBay?" demanded Clay, scrolling through the data. It had to be a mistake - there was no way she would willingly sell herself. But it wasn't, and for the sake of keeping her out of dodgy-ass weirdoes on the internet (never mind that *he* was a dodgy-ass weirdo himself, or so he thought), Clay quietly made a bid so ridiculous that it was likely to send the US into superinflation.
She didn't know how she'd been caught, but she stood in front of a camera in the simple but revealing shirt and skirt set she'd been forced into, shaking slightly as she stared at the ground.
A 'ding' from one of the monitors caused her to look up, seeing a counter start to spin on and on until it got to such a large number she was sure she'd never be able to read it accurately. The people around her started to freak out, but she continued to stare at the screen where the image flickered for a split second.
And in that split second, she could have sworn she saw blue eyes, blonde hair, and a smirk.
"...Clay..." she breathed, shoulders sagging with relief and thanking all the gods out there for him finding her first.
Soon, the people who'd grabbed her piled her into a van and dumped her at his doorstep where she proceeded to run inside and thank the blond over and over again until the tears stopped dripping down her cheeks.
