Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze (1991) Directed by Michael Pressman A miniature ballpoint pen drawing of the TMNT. I actually was thinking of doing this for the 4 years of @dailymoviesketch (being that there are four of the Turtles). But I probably did this too small and thought I'd do something better, hence the Iron Man pencil drawing yesterday. I completed this one as well and am posting it now. The height is just a little over half an inch (yes, that small, hence I wasn't able to properly get the details of the eyes) and width is about 2 inches. It's sort of like @tiny.sharma10's #aninchaugust2019 sketches where she drew multiple characters. [Miniature drawing of @reginaacassandraa from #Evaru directed by @vvramg and starring @adivisesh] Evaru (2019) Directed by Venkat Ramji I missed watching this movie in theatres as the last couple of months have been extremely busy for me, with Recruitment activities. Fortunately, at the end of its theatrical run now, the film is on Amazon Prime. It's an official remake of the Spanish movie "Contratiempo" a.k.a. "The Invisible Guest", the second Indian remake, after "Badla". I actually didn't know this was a remake, till @kashyapchandra told me about it. So, I watched "The Invisible Guest" on Netflix recently and liked that. I haven't seen "Badla" yet and directly saw this take on the story. The film opens with wealthy socialite Sameera (Regina Cassandra) being arrested for the murder of a police officer who raped her. Subsequently, while under house arrest and impending trial, Vikram Vasudev (Adivi Sesh), a cop, advises her on defense. If you have seen the original film you would kind of know where things go from here, but the filmmakers here have made enough changes to differentiate this movie from the Spanish one (I don't know how similar this is to "Badla" though). The framework is the same, but they play about with the details differently. I thought "Evaru" was well done, quite restrained in its approach and nicely paced. It was well acted too. I liked the movie overall. I drew Regina Cassandra from the movie, from the flashback scene of the assault that starts off the story. Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of one Harley Quinn) (2020) Directed by Cathy Yan Some days ago, a teaser for this movie was shown in theatres along with “It Chapter Two”. The teaser opens with red balloons floating upwards with music that makes it seem like a trailer for that film itself. But then Harley Quinn emerges from the shadows with a mallet and bursts the balloons saying, “I’m so fucking over clowns”. This movie with a very long title is an upcoming entry in the now kind of fractured DCEU, and is apparently the first R-Rated film in that series. I am keeping my expectations in check but anyway looking forward to it, especially for Margot Robbie, who was fantastic in “Suicide Squad”. Joker (2019) Directed by Todd Phillips The last sketch for #AnInchAugust2019 done in September (only because I intended to do this yesterday but was very tired after getting home from work). The final trailer for Todd Phillips' Joker was released on the 28th of August, and what a trailer it is. The movie seems awesome and is getting great reviews. It's also R rated, so I'm looking forward to seeing it even more. It looks like it'll be a darkly violent and disturbing movie! Seems gorgeously shot (Phillips's regular collaborator Lawrence Sher). I drew Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck from the movie, the drawing was done with @ns1pen, multi colour ballpoint pens and Gelly Roll pen on A6 Brustro sketchbook and scanned. I actually wanted to NOT use Gelly Roll at all but I made some mistakes and didn't have a choice but to cover them up using this, also I thought I might as well add some highlights. Sacred Games 2 (2019) Directed by Anurag Kashyap and Neeraj Ghaywan I have been really busy with work the past few weeks so have only been able to dedicate time for a few sketches for @tiny.sharma10 and @meghalika's #AnInchAugust2019 challenge.
